Outrage as resurfaced clip shows Boston city council member Tania Fernandes Anderson insulting colleagues
BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS: A Democratic city council member from Boston, who threatened to "dismantle the White backdrop" in America and "create a revolution," is beginning to agitate her liberal colleagues with her outrageous antics, according to a source who spoke with Fox News Digital.
The employee of city hall requested to remain anonymous due to the "unhealthy" atmosphere that councilwoman Tania Fernandes Anderson has created. According to them, she is a "troubled person" who manipulates people by accusing them of being racist.
Tania Fernandes Anderson is accused of being antagonistic, verbally abusive, and antisemitic
The source talked about how difficult it has been to have someone in the city government who, in their opinion, has been antagonistic, verbally abusive, and antisemitic.
"People are intimidated by her. And that intimidation does work," claimed the anonymous worker. They noted that some employees give in to Anderson because "no one want[s] to disagree with Tania because she's unpredictable."
Anderson, who declared herself as "the first formally undocumented African-born immigrant & first Muslim elected in the city of Boston," was elected in November 2021. After winning the election, she said her aim was to start a "revolution" for "equity."
"It will be about equity and I hope we don't have too many disagreements in there," said Anderson in an interview in December 2021, adding, "I think that systemic racism is long overdue for us to overthrow it in order for us to create a revolution that brings about change."
Fernandes Anderson has gained notoriety for her public outbursts, which include "swearing, yelling, and screaming" during public city council meetings, as reported by the source. They further mentioned, "The last thing someone wants is to be labeled as a racist in this city."
Anderson describes her own tirades as "giving smoke." During a March meeting, she remarked, "Don't come for me, because if you want smoke, you'll get smoke. I'm not afraid of any of you."
"It's a threat. I feel like it's a threat," said the anonymous city hall employee about the councilwoman's comments.
Video of Tania Fernandes Anderson yelling at her Boston city council colleagues resurfaces
Anderson referred to the city council as "depraved" and "stupidly racially divided" during an outburst in August 2022 due to differences over redistricting. A video of the incident recently resurfaced, causing outrage on the Internet.
She told her colleagues, "I can't even call you guys cowards because desperation deserves mercy. Your votes here sometimes are racist… I am here to represent every Black woman and man in the community."
In the clip, the councilwoman is seen slamming her fist on the table and yelling, "What the f**k do I have to do in this f*****g council to get respect as a Black woman?" Anderson doesn't hide from the consequences of blowing this kind of "smoke" on coworkers in private.

Soon after, Anderson allegedly sent a text to her colleagues, instructing them to "toughen the f**k up."
"Whatever the f**k is the problem work it out and leave out your evil resentments. Toughen the f**k up... I don't want to always feel I need to give anyone smoke because when it comes to family, I know we are all capable of becoming warriors," wrote the councilwoman.
In the text, Anderson urged her colleagues to abandon "dirty politics." Referring to her candid style of communication, the Boston council member describes herself as "a language person" and adds, "I think about how to be raw on purpose."
The idea behind Anderson's style of speaking, according to her, is that "we should dismantle the White backdrop [in America] and we should restructure it so that it's welcoming."
Tania Fernandes Anderson's remarks on Israel were described as 'extremely unsettling'
Another time, after the Hamas October 7 attacks, Anderson sobbed because her colleagues apparently declined to back her resolution, which had initially referred to the horrific crimes committed by Hamas as a "military operation."
"It's ridiculous. Get up and oppose all killing of all civilians, of all children, not just the ones that line up with your political bulls**t," said the councilwoman.
Regarding Israel's military response to the Hamas attacks, she stated, "No Jew that is praying that is faithful and righteous is killing children. These people are political animals," adding that the same applied to Muslims.
The source claimed that Anderson has been so consumed with passing resolutions denouncing Israel for the last six to seven months that it was impeding her capacity to carry out her regular work responsibilities and meet community needs.
Anderson was one of the "worst offenders" when it came to missing city council meetings, according to a recent report. Regarding her remarks criticizing Israel, the insider described them as "extremely unsettling."
Tania Fernandes Anderson failed to take the oath required for elected officials
The Massachusetts Ethics Commission claims that Anderson hired her sister and son just days after taking office and just days after completing the city's conflict of interest training.
"Anderson admitted to violating the conflict of interest law by hiring her sister and son to paid positions on her Boston City Council staff," stated the findings from the ethics commission.
Anderson was also made to retake her oath after it was found that she didn't accurately say the words of the pledge as well as failed to raise her right hand during the inaugural ceremony.
Her involvement in a budget that she oversaw that attempted to slash $30 million and nearly $1 million in funding for the police and veterans, respectively, was another scandal.
She later denied any responsibility for the budget and blamed other council members during a recent hearing. That budget proposal was vetoed by the mayor of Boston.
The tipster further said, "I think she's a troubled person. I don't necessarily want to see someone that's troubled get into more problems. But it is a problem [that she is in government]."
Internet blasts Tania Fernandes Anderson over unruly conduct
Soon after the video of her conduct during the 2022 meeting resurfaced, netizens wasted no time to slam Anderson. One Facebook user said, "What a shame, I don't understand how or why people choose these candidates, they are embarrassing! Please don't compare this with the circus," and a person remarked, "The more she acts stupid the less people listen."
One simply dubbed her a "Traitor," and someone else stated, "They can't be reasoned with."
"She’s so far gone/ left there is no hope for her," expressed another person.
An individual fumed, "What's this? So raising our decibels when we have a problem is having any effect? It just makes it look like she's not fit to speak and no one recognizes anything she says!"
