Britney Spears seemingly takes aim at dad Jamie's amputated leg in now-deleted post
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Britney Spears seemingly took aim at her father, Jamie Spears, over the restrictions she faced during her conservatorship while celebrating her sons’ birthdays in a since-deleted post.
Britney was placed under a 13-year court-ordered conservatorship on February 1, 2008, giving her father and an attorney control over her finances and personal life. In September 2021, Judge Brenda Penny suspended Jamie from his role overseeing her financial estate.

Britney Spears recalls travel restrictions during conservatorship
In the post, Britney wrote that she was “never allowed to say my name in the land of the free and travel spontaneously” for 15 years, adding that her parents decided where and when she could travel.
She also questioned, “I wonder why god took my father's legs away?” Jamie has reportedly had his right leg amputated above the knee due to a severe bacterial infection.
“Did he take my name away and existence in MURICA HOME OF THE FREE !!” she added. Britney used the term “Murica,” a slang version of America often used satirically to mock extreme patriotism, nationalism, or stereotypical rural or Southern culture.
The singer began the post by describing a photo showing her in a purple print bikini in what appeared to be a warm vacation spot while holding the hand of her eldest son, Sean Preston, who was pushing his brother Jayden James along with his hand.
“He’s pushing Jayden when I started to use my own feet not guided by anyone. For some reason as a baby he always did that, I thought it was cute…,” she wrote. Britney recalled frequently travelling to Cabo San Lucas and other coastal destinations since her conservatorship ended in November 2021.
“So I guess going to Mexico the last 5 years… Although my friends would say this place isn’t that great, I was always on cloud 9. I could feel my inner child 100 percent awaken and never felt so alive,” the 44-year-old added.
Britney Spears celebrates Sean and Jayden’s milestones
Britney spent much of the weekend celebrating her sons, Sean and Jayden, whose father is her ex-husband Kevin Federline. Sean will turn 21 on Monday, September 14, while Jayden turned 20 on Saturday.
For Jayden’s birthday, Britney shared a heartfelt message, writing, “Happy birthday to my handsome young boy oh dear lord we have this beautiful thing called life in front of us, it's such a beautiful delicate thing.” She added, “I hope I can be the best mommy in the world every day of ur life!!!!”
In July, Jayden pushed back against conspiracy theories claiming his mother had been replaced by a clone. He called the theory “ridiculous” and said such rumors showed how “exaggerated and fake” information can spread.
Britney and her sons have experienced periods of estrangement but have been rebuilding their relationship. Jayden and Sean also received support from their mother when they made their runway debut at the Vetements menswear Spring and Summer 2027 show during Paris Fashion Week.
Jayden told Vogue that the pop star was nervous and wanted to make sure they were doing what they wanted. Although she was not there, she sent flowers to their hotel and called and texted them. “She was like, ‘Yeah, you guys are my sons. You've got this,’” he shared.
