LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Internet users are slamming George Santos after he openly challenged Jimmy Kimmel in anticipation of their legal showdown over a Cameo fraud case.

According to The Hill, former Representative George Santos (R-NY) is ramping up his feud with comedian Jimmy Kimmel as their legal battle looms.

Santos accuses the late-night host of employing deceptive tactics, alleging Kimmel used "phony name and narratives" to enlist his services on the Cameo platform.

Santos throws down the gauntlet to Kimmel on social media

In a post on X, Santos issued a direct challenge to Kimmel, daring him to face the consequences of his actions.

"Let’s see if @jimmykimmel puts up or shuts up today," Santos declared, hinting at Kimmel's previous remarks about the case.

Santos emphasized the significance of the day, highlighting his scheduled appearance in federal court to address the allegations against Kimmel for fraud, copyright infringement, and breaching licensing agreements.

Unfazed by the controversy surrounding him, Santos expressed his eagerness to confront Kimmel, questioning whether the comedian would confront him directly or hide behind legal counsel.

Despite facing federal fraud charges himself and having been expelled from the House in a bipartisan vote, Santos remains steadfast in pursuing legal recourse against Kimmel.

Santos files lawsuit against Kimmel, ABC, and Disney

The legal saga between Santos and Kimmel began in February when Santos initiated a lawsuit in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York.

He alleges that Kimmel misrepresented his intentions for the Cameo videos, leading to fraud, breach of contract, unjust enrichment, and copyright infringement claims against Kimmel, ABC, and Disney, who were also named as defendants.

Kimmel, known for his sharp wit, didn't shy away from addressing the lawsuit on his late-night talk show. He mocked Santos's claims, joking about the possibility of being sued for fraud and downplaying the seriousness of the allegations.

Kimmel dismissed the lawsuit as "preposterous" and defended his actions as a gesture of support for Santos, despite the ensuing legal battle.

Kimmel and Santos square off as legal battle intensifies

As the tension escalates between the two parties, with Santos seeking damages of at least $750,000, Kimmel maintains his stance, portraying himself as a victim of Santos's legal pursuits.

Despite inquiries from media outlets, representatives for Kimmel, ABC, and Disney have yet to comment on the ongoing legal dispute.

In response to the ongoing legal battle, Kimmel previously remarked, "Could you imagine if I get sued by George Santos for a fraud. I mean how good would that be? It would be like a dream come true. So since I started buying his videos his rates went way up to $500 a piece. He should be thanking me for buying these videos."

Regarding Santos's lawsuit, Kimmel commented, "George has rudely filed the lawsuit against me, our show and The Walt Disney Co. because we did a nice thing. Because we supported him by ordering his Cameo videos. He says we deceived him under the guise of fandom — soliciting personalized videos, only to then broadcast these on national television. And if there’s one thing George Santos will not stand for, it’s using a fake name under false pretenses."

Internet users divided over Santos vs. Kimmel legal showdown

Internet users came down heavily on Santos amid his legal pursuit against Kimmel.

One user wrote, "Can't wait to see him lose!"

Another added, "Where is his money coming from to pay an attorney? Would any attorney see this case as a winning case?"

One user said, "I hope Jimmy Kimmel gives us a running commentary on how the case is going."

One user replied, "What a looser."

One commented, "George Santos blows Elon Musk."
