LOS ANGLES, CALIFORNIA: Fans of 'La La Land' sweetheart Emma Stone swiftly jumped in support of her when it seemed like she wasn't too pleased with Jimmy Kimmel's wisecrack about her hit movie 'Poor Things' during this year's Oscars.

Following the 96th Oscars, Kimmel found himself under social media scrutiny. Even former US President Donald Trump joined in, taking aim at the late-night host and dubbing him the worst pick for Oscars host. Trump even went as far as proposing that the Academy swap out Kimmel for someone with better hosting skills.

Entertainment Weekly reported a head-turning moment from Kimmel's fourth stint hosting the Oscars. While the nominations for Best Picture rolled out, the TV host cracked a joke about 'Poor Things', hinting at its nudity-filled scenes.

As per Entertainment Tonight, Kimmel quipped, "Those were all the parts of 'Poor Things' we're allowed to show on TV," as clips played.

The camera then caught Stone's reaction in the audience. According to Entertainment Weekly, she didn't seem too happy with Kimmel's sense of humor. Many viewers noticed her uttering a word, speculated to be 'prick', though it wasn't confirmed by the actress or her sources.

Stone later wowed her fans by winning Best Actress for her role as Bella Baxter in 'Poor Things'. However, her winning moment was slightly overshadowed by a wardrobe mishap, as her dress zipper split as she took the stage.

Stone joked that the mishap might have occurred while singing along to her 'La La La Land' co-star Ryan Gosling's performance of 'I'm Just Ken'.

Stone didn't seem like the only person in the audience that Kimmel seemed to piss off. In his opening monologue, Kimmel quipped at Robert Downey Jr's past drug addictions, earning a stone-faced expression from the debut Oscar-winning actor.
