Internet shreds Trump as he rants on Truth Social about 2024 Oscars, brands Jimmy Kimmel 'worst host'

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Former President Donald Trump wasn't thrilled about the 96th Academy Awards as he took to Truth Social to rant about the event, calling it "boring and very unfair." 

He also aimed his criticism at the host, Jimmy Kimmel, who has previously criticized Trump's team for making hypocritical statements like suggesting that President Joe Biden's border visit on February 29 was purely political.

Trump didn't mince words, starting with a jab at this year's Oscars host, Kimmel. The ex-POTUS wrote, "Has there EVER been a WORSE HOST than Jimmy Kimmel at The Oscars. His opening was that of a less than average person trying too hard to be something which he is not, and never can be," as per Raw Story. 

He suggested, "Get rid of Kimmel and perhaps replace him with another washed up, but cheap, ABC 'talent,' George Slopanopoulos. He would make everybody on stage look bigger, stronger, and more glamorous."

"Also a really bad politically correct show tonight, and for years - Disjointed, boring, and very unfair. Why don’t they just give the Oscars to those that deserve them. Maybe that way their audience and TV ratings will come back from the depths. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!" opined Trump. 

Having said that, the presumptive GOP presidential nominee wasn't the only one to criticize Kimmel's hosting. The late-night host received massive flak for his joke about Robert Downey Jr's past struggles with drug abuse during the ceremony's opening monologue.

Meanwhile, Kimmel responded to Trump's Truth Social post while onstage at the Oscars, saying, "Well, thank you, President Trump. Thank you for watching, I’m surprised you’re still — isn’t it past your jail time?"

One wrote, "Jealous…pathetic little man," and another added, "It’s no surprise that Donnie thinks the things that are the best are the worst. I mean, look at his entire life and what/who he has surrounded himself with."

Someone else quipped, "It’s rigged because he wasn’t nominated for any awards In fairness to the Oscars, trump wasn’t in anything to be nominated for. But that’s not relevant to him 🤣."

A person noted, "The petulant toddler is once again concerned with the big important issues of the day," while an individual remarked, "The only time anything isn't rigged is when he wins. Not the academy awards fault he's a loser."
