NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Jimmy Kimmel sharply criticized Donald Trump for his Texas speech, highlighting its abundance of falsehoods and lies. He also criticized Trump's team for their hypocritical statement suggesting the president's border visit was solely for political reasons.

On February 29, both the current and former presidents visited the United States' southern border albeit separately.

Jimmy Kimmel contrasts Joe Biden's engagement with Donald Trump's rhetoric

While Joe Biden engaged with border agents, Trump delivered a contentious campaign-style speech riddled with falsehoods concerning migrant crossings into the country.

The Trump campaign asserted that Biden's visit to the border was a "last-minute, insincere attempt to chase President Trump."

They contended saying, "not because they actually want to solve the problem, but because they know Biden is losing terribly."

“The Trump campaign is accusing the president of traveling to the border for political reasons, whereas Trump went there for the taco bowls, you know,” Kimmel said, appearing to throwback to a social media post that Trump made during his 2016 presidential campaign

Eight years ago, a photo emerged in the run-up to the elections, depicting him enjoying a large taco bowl, flashing a smile, and giving a thumbs-up to the camera.

Accompanying the image was a caption that read, "Happy #CincoDeMayo! The finest taco bowls are served at Trump Tower Grill. I cherish Hispanics,” a remarkable sentiment given his 2016 campaign, marked by derogatory remarks and unfounded allegations against Mexicans.

Returning to the present day, Biden extended a gesture of reconciliation to his presidential rival, urging Trump to collaborate in passing the bipartisan border security bill, which has faced resistance from Trump and his allies.

“Instead of playing politics with the issue, why don’t we just get together and get it done?" Biden proposed during his visit.

In the meantime, Trump, humorously dubbed by the late-night host as "Seedy Gonzales," was in Eagle Pass disseminating misinformation and falsehoods regarding migrants crossing the border.

He asserted that they hailed from "jails and mental institutions" and alleged that "no one speaks the languages" they use.

"Could someone please push him over that border and build his wall up real quick?" Kimmel quipped in response to Trump's baseless claims.

Donald Trump's legal battles continue amid border visit

Although Trump and Biden both made visits to the border, their locations were about 300 miles apart. Despite Trump's trip to Texas, his legal troubles persist.

Following the conclusion of his New York fraud trial, Trump is facing a $454 million judgment, which his legal team is attempting to appeal. They have requested a pause in the ruling and offered a $100 million bond.

However, Judge Anil Singh of the state appellate court rejected Trump's plea to suspend enforcement of the monetary judgment on February 27.

Nevertheless, he retains the authority to manage his real estate business and seek loans.

Commenting on the situation, Kimmel remarked, "Essentially, a man renowned for not repaying debts now has to persuade a bonding company that he will indeed repay them, which seems unlikely."

He added, "It's like owing an entire Powerball jackpot. While selling off properties to cover the debt is a possibility, it's a worst-case scenario."

Kimmel also took a dig at Trump's son and said, “His first move is to see how much he can get for Eric on Craigslist. He has him listed in the ‘Tools’ section."

He also suggested, “Wouldn’t it be great if Trump has to sell Mar-a-Lago to some billionaire liberal? Maybe Oprah-Lago would be a solution?”

Kimmel's monologue resonated with many, as several viewers took to the show's comment section, with one user writing, "No one in America should be allowed to vote unless they can pass a civics and history lesson. Some of these people are terrifying that they are able to vote."
