WASHINGTON, DC: Former President Donald Trump found himself in hot water as he doubled down on his claims that President Joe Biden is welcoming "Drug Lords and Human Traffickers" into the US.

The 77-year-old GOP presidential candidate took to his Truth Social to blast the POTUS on Tuesday, January 2, saying "There is an INVASION going on at our Southern Border!!!"

"Millions of people, including Drug [sic] Lords, Human Traffickers, and Terrorists, are being welcomed into the USA by the Worst and most Incompetent President in the history of our Country — Crooked Joe Biden. MAGA2024!!!" the real estate mogul added.

These statements are identical to what Trump said in an all-caps tirade he posted to Truth Social around the holidays.

"THEY SPIED ON MY CAMPAIGN, LIED TO CONGRESS, CHEATED ON FISA, RIGGED A PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION, ALLOWED MILLIONS OF PEOPLE, MANY FROM PRISONS & MENTAL INSTITUTIONS, TO INVADE OUR COUNTRY, SCREWED UP IN AFGHANISTAN, & JOE BIDEN’S MISFITS & THUGS, LIKE DERANGED JACK SMITH, ARE COMING AFTER ME, AT LEVELS OF PERSECUTION NEVER SEEN BEFORE IN OUR COUNTRY??? IT’S CALLED ELECTION INTERFERENCE. MERRY CHRISTMAS!" he wrote over Christmas.

Donald Trump attacks Biden over immigrant policies

In recent weeks, the former president has intensified his attack on Biden's immigration policy and immigrants in general. He previously went so far as to say that undocumented immigrants are "poisoning the blood" of the nation.

“They let — I think the real number is 15, 16 million people into our country. When they do that, we have a lot of work to do. They’re poisoning the blood of our country,” Trump told his supporters at his Durham rally on December 16.

“That’s what they’ve done. They poison mental institutions and prisons all over the world, not just in South America, not just to three or four countries that we think about, but all over the world. They’re coming into our country from Africa, from Asia, all over the world,” he added.

Critics of the controversial politician immediately likened the concerning remarks to similar comments made by Adolf Hitler. However, Trump insisted he "knew nothing" about the famed German dictator.

The Biden administration also criticized Trump for his remarks, saying “Donald Trump channeled his role models as he parroted Adolf Hitler, praised Kim Jong Un, and quoted Vladimir Putin while running for president on a promise to rule as a dictator and threaten American democracy.”

Internet reacts to Donald Trump’s claims

After Trump’s post surfaced on social media, many users slammed him for claiming that Biden is welcoming "Drug Lords and Human Traffickers" into the US.

“Change the channel my dude!” one user blasted. “There was an INVASION on January 6 in DC of your followers,” a second user said referring to the Capitol riot.

“Trump accomplished very little for the American people during his one term & nearly destroyed our democracy with his crimes, greed & corruption. Why would anyone with a brain want to give him a 2nd chance to destroy our country by making it a FASCIST state with him as a dictator?” a third user attacked.

“I thought you put a big border gate up!!!” another user mocked, while another said “But, you kept bragging about how you "fixed" the problem.”

“Congress makes immigration laws why aren't republicans doing anything? 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️pathetic,” one more wrote.
