Charlie Kirk’s mother chokes up over one thing about Erika that she says Charlie would hate
WASHINGTON,DC: Charlie Kirk’s mother, Kathryn Kirk, has spent the past year watching strangers dissect her family from afar.
She stayed quiet as theories spread, while her daughter-in-law, Erika Kirk, faced criticism and questions about Charlie’s death continued to circulate online.
Now Kathryn Kirk has finally spoken and the subject that leaves her struggling to hold back tears is her late son’s wife.
Kathryn opened up about Erika in her first interview with 'Vanity Fair', published Tuesday, September 29.
She also confronted the rumors that have surrounded the family since Charlie was killed at Utah Valley University in September 2025.

Kathryn breaks her silence
Kathryn recalled journalists reaching out almost immediately after the shooting, including a TMZ reporter who contacted her before she had even spoken to Erika.
For months, she chose not to participate in the media frenzy. But Kathryn has now offered her answer.
She said watching the way Erika has been treated online is what brings her to tears because she believes Charlie would be deeply upset by it.
Since Charlie’s death, his widow has been placed under a microscope as she simultaneously mourned her husband, raised their children and stepped into the organization he left behind.
Kathryn says the family story being told online is not the one she recognizes.
There have been claims that Charlie’s parents hold Erika responsible for his death.
Other speculation has centered on his will and the future of Turning Point USA, suggesting that disagreements inside the family have been hidden from the public.
Kathryn rejected those suggestions.
She said Charlie’s parents were “100 percent behind her” and described her relationship with Erika as having become stronger since Charlie’s death.
“We knew Charlie in a way that no one else did,” Kathryn said, describing the understanding she and Erika now share.
Hate against Erika after Charlie's death
Erika quickly became a target for online speculation after Charlie’s killing.
Her public appearances were scrutinized. Her decisions were questioned. Even moments connected to her grief became fodder for people searching for hidden explanations.
The speculation eventually took a darker turn.
Online personalities began pushing theories suggesting that people close to Charlie could have known more about his killing than they had admitted.
Erika was pulled directly into some of those claims, including allegations that she had some connection to the assassination.
There is no established evidence that Erika was involved in Charlie’s killing.
The criminal case is centered on Tyler Robinson, who is accused of fatally shooting Charlie at the Utah campus event. Robinson has pleaded not guilty.
But that has not stopped the theories from spreading.
Candace Owens has repeatedly questioned Erika and the circumstances surrounding Charlie’s death, keeping the allegations alive among her audience.
The claims have been rejected by Erika and Turning Point USA.
