LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Cher and Elijah Blue Allman have reportedly decided to handle their issues privately amid their months-long conservatorship battle.

PEOPLE citing court documents reported that on May 7 both mother and son duo went for a private mediation session with a retired judge and mutually decided to “pause all legal proceedings and related activities, including all discovery and motion practice, to allow the Parties to continue working together to privately and confidentially resolve this matter.”

A new hearing has been set for September 13

As a result, their hearing date, which was earlier scheduled for June 11, has now been pushed to September 13.

An official order read, as reported by Radar Online, “Having considered the concurrently filed Stipulated Ex Parte Application and good cause therefor appearing, it is hereby ORDERED, ADJUDGED AND DECREED, as follows: The hearing currently set for June 11, 2024, is continued to September 13, 2024.”

Cher made some serious allegations against her son

This came after a judge dismissed the singer’s request to become her son’s temporary conservator.

The 77-year-old actress reportedly alleged that Allman was addicted to drugs and had mental health problems.

She had alleged in her request that the 47-year-old is “currently unable to manage his assets due to severe mental health and substance abuse issues.”

“Elijah is entitled to regular distributions from a trust established by his father for his benefit, but given his ongoing mental health and substance abuse issues, Petitioner is concerned that any funds distributed to Elijah will immediately be spent on drugs, leaving Elijah with no assets to provide for himself, and putting Elijah’s life at risk,” Cher added.

But the judge eventually ruled against her, noting, “That in and of itself is not a basis for the court to appoint a probate conservatorship. I have not seen the evidence to grant a temporary, emergency conservatorship as of today.”

Elijah Blue Allman defended himself

Also in April, her son fired back at his famous mother with his claims.

He reportedly asserted, “I do not require a conservatorship. I understand that a conservatorship is appropriate for a person who is substantially unable to manage his own financial resources or resist fraud or undue influence.”

The son of the late Gregg Allman continued, “I have struggled with addiction, but I am not mentally ill. The absence of evidence of the concerns (related to ‘cyclical’ mental illness addiction) raised in the petition over the last four months is evidence that I have control over my faculties and that I am not mentally ill.”

“The world is full of addicts and individuals with mental health challenges who do not have a trust distribution to rely on. The only person who can overcome my struggles is myself — and I am actively doing so,” Elijah added.
