WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump has shattered records by signing 111 executive orders in the first three months of 2025, signaling an aggressive push to expand executive power during his second term.

The figure, reported by CNN’s Harry Enten, marks the highest number of executive orders issued by any US president this early in a term in over 100 years. The surge comes as Trump faces slipping approval ratings and renewed scrutiny over what critics call presidential overreach, reports Fox News.

Donald Trump marks second term with record-breaking number of executive orders

“I think there was this concern among some folks that Donald Trump would come in for a second term and kind of be a lame duck,” Harry Enten said during the broadcast on Tuesday, April 8. “He ain’t no lame duck. He’s more like a soaring eagle," he added.

He further broke it down, “Let’s talk about Trump executive orders in 2025. He’s already signed 111 so far. That is the most at this point in a presidency in at least 100 years.”

Trump had bragged about this feat himself, calling the number of orders “more than any in American history". That part is up for debate but Enten confirmed it is the highest count at this point in any presidency in the last 100 years.

Enten pointed out that this pace of executive action hasn’t been seen since the days of Harry Truman in the early 1950s.

“The bottom line is, whether you like Trump or you don‘t like him, you can't say that he's come in and not try to deliver on what he at least believes were his promises on the campaign trail. And he's doing so in historic fashion," said Enten.

However, 43% of Americans say they approve of the job Trump is doing, while a larger share of 53% disapprove, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll conducted from March 31 to April 2, per Fox News. This reflects a nation still deeply divided over his leadership.

When CNN host Kate Bolduan asked Enten to explain how Americans felt about Trump's approach to power and whether Americans think the president has too much power, Enten pointed out, “Well, 47% say too much, but then you get 36% who say the right amount. Then you get 17% who say too little. So you're essentially dealing with a majority of the American public, 53% who do not say that Trump has too much power. They either say he has too little power or the right amount of power. So the idea, that argument that Donald Trump is quote, unquote, a king, that I don't think holds with the American people."

“With the majority of folks, they believe Donald Trump is doing something completely differently, and they don't believe he has too much power,” the polling analyst said, adding, “And the executive orders he signed certainly suggests he's no lame duck. He is, as I said at the beginning, a soaring eagle.”

Internet agrees as CNN analyst likens Donald Trump to a 'soaring eagle'

CNN analyst Harry Enten stirred online buzz after unexpectedly comparing President Donald Trump to a “soaring eagle” during a recent segment, with many social media users lauding the POTUS' pace of executive action.

“When CNN is calling Trump a ‘soaring eagle’ you know he’s doing well,” one user wrote.

Others took the moment to praise Trump’s momentum. “There’s no doubt that he’s been the busiest President in his first few months than I’ve ever seen,” one person said, while another noted, “Trump had 4 years to reflect on his first term. He’s got a plan and he’s not stopping!”

Some admired the new and improved Trump. “Historic fashion at a historic rate too! @realDonaldTrump has been working nonstop for America to make it great again!” a user exclaimed.

“Yes he is doing it differently, and that’s why we elected him,” one comment read, while one user said, “Yes! It’s what I voted for!”
