LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'Friends' alum Courteney Cox re-created her dance featured in the music video of Bruce Springsteen’s 'Dancing in the Dark' for a TikTok trend, four decades after the video released.

Cox threw it back to her appearance in Bruce Springsteen’s 1984 music video for ‘Dancing in the Dark’, as she jumped on a TikTok trend that asks parents how they danced during the decade.

Recently, TikTokers started sharing videos of themselves dancing to the 1984 song 'Smalltown Boy' by Bronski Beat, and asking their mothers to dance like they did in the 1980s.

"1980’s dancing…in the dark,” Cox captioned the video.

The 59-year-old also posted a similar video on her Instagram page which has 15 million followers. She begins dancing to the 1984 synth-pop hit ‘Smalltown Boy’ by Bronski Beat, which is commonly used with the social trend.

As the song changes and Cox performs her dance again, seeming uncomfortable, she takes off her hoodie to expose the same Springsteen t-shirt she wore in the 'Dancing in the Dark' video.

Director Brian De Palma chose Cox, then 20 years old, from a casting call for the music video. It was recorded in Saint Paul, Minnesota, on the first night of Springsteen's Born in the USA Tour, and it showed The Boss dragging her out of the crowd to dance with him on stage.

Although Cox previously said the video “got me in the door to so many places,” she admitted to Off Camera in 2017 that she “didn’t want to be the one” picked to go onstage.

The actress from 'Shining Veil' revealed that she had shot an additional scene with her character's friends before the event, but it was deleted from the final version. The actresses were informed that one would be chosen to take the stage, but they were not told which one.

"I don’t not want to be the one to have to go,” said Cox. “I didn’t want to dance in front of 30,000 people. It was a full concert, and we did the song twice, back to back.” Cox, later went on to her star-making role in Friends from 1994 to 2004.
