WASHINGTON, DC: Damon Lindelof, a prominent Hollywood showrunner and Democratic donor, penned an article for Deadline in which he called on President Joe Biden to step down and urged fellow Democrats to stop donating to Biden's campaign, suggesting that he should withdraw from the race.

"My name is Damon Lindelof," he wrote. "I am a lifelong Democrat and I love my complicated, glorious country. I am not writing this anonymously because I’m asking others in positions of influence to do the same."

"I don’t know if what I have to say will matter, but I know what my eyes and my ears and my heart tell me," he added. "I’ve been asleep at the wheel and it’s time to wake the f**K up," he further added.

Damon Lindelof criticizes the recent CNN Presidential Debate as 'game-changing

The television writer and producer, a notable supporter of Democratic campaigns including those of former President Barack Obama, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and President Joe Biden, described the recent CNN Presidential Debate as "game-changing."

He argued that financial contributions empower individuals to influence change and impact the decisions made by those in power.

Biden is facing increased scrutiny, with some calls for him to withdraw from the 2024 presidential race following his poor debate performance on June 27 against former President Donald Trump.

At 81, the oldest President in the nation's history, Biden faces rigorous examination from politicians, editorial writers, political commentators, and party donors over concerns about his cognitive abilities and fitness to serve as commander-in-chief.

"When a country is not behaving how we want them to, we apply harsh economic sanctions. It’s a give and take — Short term hurt for long term healing," Lindelof wrote. [sic]

"When they text you asking for cash, text back that you’re not giving them a penny and you won’t change your mind until there’s change at the top of the ticket," he added. "And when Joe finally leaves the mound, I will stand and applaud. Because he truly pitched a great game."

When that happens, Lindelof stated he would "double the size of the checks." He concluded by saying, "God bless you for making it through this stream of conscientious consciousness … and God bless America."

Damon Lindelof's controversial statement sparks social media reactions

As soon as Damon Lindelof's statement went viral on social media, users began reacting. One user commented, "He's still a better choice than Trump."

Another user criticized Lindelof saying, "People like this disgust me."

A commentator leaves a message, "Someone tell him he has no one better . His party is s**3t. The goals are the problem, along with the lies and manipulation . Oh, let's not forget the legal bulls**t." [sic]

"This is all being done on purpose. Stay vigilant folks!!! The elite continues to play games with us," One wrote.

Many even questioned, "Who is Damon Lindelof?"
