NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Richard Haass, a former American diplomat and president emeritus of the Council on Foreign Relations, urged President Joe Biden's advisors to pressure him into resigning as the presumed Democratic nominee before the November election.

Haass claimed there needs to be a "change" and that Biden is too old to serve another term in office during an appearance on MSNBC's 'Morning Joe' on Tuesday, July 2.

During the broadcast, Haass stated, "I really believe that Joe Biden is no longer positioned that he can be a successful president four and a half years from now."

Richard Haass thinks Joe Biden is incompetent to serve the country for next 4 years

Richard Haass, who worked for the US State Department as Director of Policy Planning under George W Bush, was on the show to discuss his most recent column, 'After Biden’s Debate Performance, the World Should Prepare for Trump'.

According to the article, Biden's debate performance made voters aware of the president's "apparent physical and mental infirmities" and "could even threaten turn him into something of a lame duck."

Haass further said that Biden's debate performance raised doubts about not only his ability to defeat former President Donald Trump in reelection, but also about his capacity to serve as a capable president for an additional four and a half years during the 'Morning Joe' segment.

Richard Haass is concerned about Joe Biden's age

"He’s 81. He’s going to be 82 in November. He’s going to be 86 if he is re-elected before – while he is still in the Oval Office," Richard Haass said, per Fox News.

"So when you elect a president, you’re basically buying an option. You’re buying a four-year option," the commentator continued, before questioning the notion that Biden is a good choice.

"Does anyone seriously think that in four and a half years from now, Joe Biden is going to be what he needs to be an effective president? As he himself would say, come on, man!" Haass declared, "That’s not going to be the case. And I hate to say it, but we’ve got to say it."

Richard Haass says Donald Trump is 'unfit' to become president

Richard Haass mentioned that Donald Trump is "unfit" for office because of "temperament, character, you name it," but added that Joe Biden to be unfit as well because of his deteriorating mental health. "That is why I think we really need to change. He needs to be urged to step down," Haass added.

Biden reportedly has a "years-long love" for MSNBC's 'Morning Joe', and he occasionally discusses political topics and media coverage with show co-host Joe Scarborough.

But if Biden had tuned in to the show in the last few days, he would have witnessed Scarborough and regular guests like Donny Deutsch cast doubt on his ability to defeat Trump in a reelection contest.

Liberal commentators and scared Democrats nationwide have begun to cast doubt on Biden's candidacy after the presidential debate.

Internet agrees with Richard Haass's remarks on Joe Biden

Netizens seemingly sided with the former American diplomat as he cast doubt on Joe Biden's competence to serve as the POTUS for another four years.

One X (formerly Twitter) user wrote, "lol the #Democrats melting down is very very comical and satisfying! After #Gaslighting America about #POTUS cognitive abilities they sure seem to want to abandon him awfully quick! Maybe #LadyMcBeth aka @FLOTUS won’t want to lose her powers."

Another added, "This whole begging and crying for Biden to step down just makes it seem like @GOP is scared of him."

"It’s time to go home," mocked one.

"DR Jill should be Charged w/Elder Abuse Once Convicted then Charge her w/Treason. She has been hiding Biden's Dementia from America for over 2 yrs. Who is Running the Country?" penned someone else.

"Maybe his circle is very comfortable with him there so they can be the ones making the real decisions while he just stands there with the facial expression like a chicken that just found a knife…," read another tweet.
