Daveigh Chase’s mother thought news of her death was fake
“It felt like something inside of me squeezing all of the air out of me, and at the same time, it felt like I was exploding outwardly. I let out this guttural scream and I just was running. And these weird sounds were coming out of me, these kind of, like, primeval sounds,” she claimed.
Cathy also noted how she initially thought Chase’s death news was fake. “I actually thought it was fake news the first time I saw it, and then, but then all of a sudden, it's all of these different legitimate sites had her name and I realized that it wasn't fake,” she added.

Chase’s death was first confirmed by her apparent boyfriend Roy Hernandez, who even started a GoFundMe to get some financial help for her medical and living expenses. He had claimed, “Daveigh Chase, my girlfriend, has always been a light in my life... But behind the scenes, she’s faced more than her share of hardship.”
