NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Madonna's son David Banda has set the record straight on his earlier remarks about "scavenging" for food since leaving his mother's New York residence.
The 18-year-old took to his Instagram Story on Sunday, July 21, to clear things up, saying, "I am very happy in my life and I am not living out on the streets."
Banda further asserted that his mother has been "very supportive" of him ever since he left her opulent Upper East Side residence, as per Daily Mail.
Madonna's son David Banda asserts he isn't 'living out on the streets'
Over the weekend, David Banda apparently claimed on Instagram Live that he was living a modest life on his own in The Bronx, selling guitar lessons and "scavenging" for food as he didn't have "enough money."
On Sunday, however, the young musician took back his remarks, writing, "To all of those concerned, my mother is very supportive of me, she has always been supportive of me. I am very happy in my life and I am not living out on the streets, starving! Please stop worrying everything is good."
During Friday's live session, Banda said, "I love it. I'm not on my own, I've got my girlfriend. But I love it." The 18-year-old is currently dating, Maria Atuesta, a 21-year-old model.
He added, 'It's lovely to experience it being nine o'clock at night, me being hungry and realizing that I don't have enough money to get food and scavenging. It's fun to be young."
Banda gives guitar lessons online to bring in extra income. Interested parties can schedule lessons through his main Instagram page, which has about 52,000 followers at the moment.
Madonna previously gushed over her son David Banda's musical prowess
The 'Material Girl' singer and her ex-husband, Guy Ritchie, adopted David Banda in 2006. He is one of Madonna’s six children, as per the New York Post.
In a 2019 interview with British Vogue, Madonna expressed her support for Banda and his musical ability. She said, "What he has more than anything is focus and determination. I’m pretty sure he got it from me."
"He’s the one I have the most in common with. I feel like he gets me; he has more of my DNA than any of my children so far," added the"Queen of Pop."
During a 2022 appearance on 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon', Madonna gushed over her son, saying, "You know he makes music now, too. He's going to end up being one of your guests."
Following a rundown of his skills, which include humor and athletic ability, the 'Popular' singer spoke of her son's sense of style. She noted, "He'll put on any outfit and look swag as you know what. It's really irritating. He wears my clothes and looks better in them."
The guitarist was one of the notable guests on the 'Material Girl' hitmaker's Celebration Tour, which concluded in May with a free performance in Rio de Janeiro.
