David Beckham shares loving message for Brooklyn after 2025 recap snub
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Amid rumors of tension in the Beckham family, David Beckham has made it clear he still loves his son Brooklyn Beckham.
The estrangement reportedly began after Brooklyn’s extravagant wedding to Nicola Peltz, when he blocked all family members on Instagram. Speculation of a family rift intensified when Brooklyn spent Christmas with his in-laws, Nelson and Claudia Peltz, instead of the Beckhams.
David Beckham shows love to his estranged son Brooklyn
Although David Beckham didn’t include any photos of Brooklyn in his recent Instagram recap of 2025, he still sent subtle messages of love to his eldest son on Instagram Stories.
Hours after posting a December 31 photo carousel featuring Brooklyn’s siblings, Romeo, 23, Cruz, 20, and Harper, 14, David shared throwback snapshots of himself with each of his four children on Instagram Stories.
He posted a picture of a young Cruz sporting a fake mustache, writing, “I’m so grateful for my family. I love you all.”
Next, he shared a photo of a young Romeo, captioned, “I’m so lucky to have my amazing family x.”
David also posted a black-and-white childhood portrait with Brooklyn, adding, “I love you all so much,” and shared a picture with Harper, writing, “I’m a very lucky Daddy.”
In his final throwback, which included Brooklyn, he wrote, “You are my life,” followed by five heart emojis, and added, “I love you all. Love Daddy x. On to 2026.”
In the caption of his recap post for 2025, which lacked any pictures of Brooklyn, David wrote, "I feel very lucky to have had the year I've had in 2025 full of moments that I will never forget from my 50th to my knighthood ( still pinching myself ) and then finishing with winning the MLS as an owner."
He added, "I'm so grateful to my incredible wife, my amazing children, my friends and team I work with every single day nothing would have been possible without you all... But as Sir Alex Ferguson would say 'Onto the the next'❤️."
He concluded with a gratitude message, "Thank you for the incredible memories I will forever remember 2025 ❤️ @victoriabeckham I love you & our kids ❤️."
Inside Brooklyn Beckham's strained relationship with his father
For years, David Beckham and his eldest son Brooklyn appeared to share a close father-son bond. They attended football matches, red-carpet events, and family holidays together, often showing a united front.
But in 2025, that image fell apart, becoming one of the year’s most talked-about celebrity family rifts.
Tensions in the Beckham household grew after Brooklyn started dating Nicola, with reports of disagreements leading up to their extravagant 2022 wedding.
The first public signs of strain came earlier this year when 26-year-old Brooklyn skipped several major family events, including his father David’s 50th birthday.
Reports suggested he stayed away after arguments over party arrangements involving his brother Romeo’s girlfriend, who happened to be Brooklyn’s ex.
Brooklyn and Nicola also missed David’s knighthood ceremony at Windsor Castle in November 2025, fueling speculation about a widening family rift.
The situation escalated in mid-December when Brooklyn reportedly blocked his parents, David and Victoria, and his brother Cruz on Instagram. Without social media communication, the feud played out publicly.
Cruz, 20, clarified on his own Instagram story, saying, “My mum and dad would never unfollow their son… Let’s get the facts right. They woke up blocked… as did I.”
As a result, none of the immediate Beckham family members followed each other on Instagram, and Brooklyn’s account now focuses mainly on posts about his wife, their life together, and his personal interests.
