'They are so desperate': Dems mocked online as they consider nominating Biden a month before convention to silence critics

WASHINGTON, DC: The Democratic National Committee (DNC) is contemplating an early nomination of President Joe Biden as the party's 2024 presidential candidate, nearly a month before the DNC convention.

This strategy may quell discussions about replacing the 81-year-old President on the ticket. Bloomberg, citing sources knowledgeable about the situation, reported that the DNC is considering July 21 as the potential date to nominate Biden officially.

Democrats plan to continue electronic certification before Chicago convention

This date aligns with the Democratic convention's credentials committee meeting, scheduled after completing the rules and procedures that will formalize Biden's virtual nomination on July 19.

The Democratic National Committee had planned to nominate Biden through an electronic vote before the in-person Democratic National Convention, scheduled to start on August 19 in Chicago, the New York Post reported.

In May, the DNC declared that the virtual vote would occur before August 7 to ensure Biden's placement on the Ohio ballot, a deadline that was subsequently extended.

In June, Ohio's Republican Governor Mike DeWine enacted legislation altering the state's candidate certification deadline from 90 days before the election to 65 days.

Nevertheless, Democrats intend to proceed with the electronic certification of Biden's nomination well before the Chicago convention.

Joe Biden's family urged him to remain in 2024 presidential race

The DNC's decision to nominate the president by mid-July appears to be a response to internal party calls for Joe Biden's replacement or to open the convention to other Democratic presidential contenders after his subpar debate performance the previous week.

A Morning Consult poll released on Monday revealed that only 37% of voters consider the President mentally fit for office, marking a 9-point drop among Democratic voters who affirm Biden's capability for service.

The Biden family, including First Lady Jill and Hunter Biden, reportedly urged the President to remain in the electoral race over the weekend.

During his 90-minute debate with former president Donald Trump last week, President Biden spoke in a subdued, raspy voice, lost his train of thought several times, and made numerous verbal missteps, causing concern within the Democratic establishment.

Democrats slammed for considering Joe Biden's early nomination

As soon as the news went viral, users on Facebook slammed the Democratic Party for considering Joe Biden's early nomination as the party's 2024 presidential candidate.

One social media mocked the party and said, "Give Biden a break. He was the man who finally beat Medicare!"

Another added, "Democrats really know how to lose...ffs."

One commentator asked, "Hahahahaha Can you say rigging an election?"

"They are so desperate," another added.

One person remarked, "This will be the funniest next few months ever."
