Did CBS alter Kamala Harris’ ‘60 Minutes’ interview? Trump campaign raises doubts over different answers
WASHINGTON, DC: The Trump campaign is raising serious concerns over Vice President Kamala Harris' recent appearance on CBS’ '60 Minutes,' alleging that the network deceptively edited her interview to shield her from political backlash, as per Fox News.
The controversy centers around a critical moment during her conversation with host Bill Whitaker, which seemingly disappeared between a preview clip and the full interview, fueling accusations that CBS tampered with the footage to protect Harris.
Remember Kamala’s word salad answer about Israel on 60 Minutes? It’s gone.

CBS under fire from Trump campaign for deceptively editing Kamala Harris' interview
The moment of contention occurred when Whitaker questioned Harris about the US government's financial support for Israel amidst its war against Islamic terrorist groups.
Whitaker commented, “But it seems that Prime Minister Netanyahu is not listening,” which prompted an initial response from Harris in a preview clip released by CBS on Sunday.
In the promotional clip, Harris responded: “The work that we have done has resulted in a number of movements in that region by Israel that were very much prompted by or a result of many things, including our advocacy for what needs to happen in the region.”
However, when the full interview aired on CBS and was later posted online, this response was missing.
Instead, viewers heard Harris reply to Whitaker’s same statement with a different response: “We are not gonna stop pursuing what is necessary for the United States to be clear about where we stand on the need for this war to end.”
This latter remark is what CBS included in the official transcript of the interview, leaving out the earlier previewed statement entirely.
The apparent editing did not go unnoticed, and the Trump campaign quickly seized on the discrepancy, accusing CBS of altering the interview to “lessen Kamala’s idiotic response.”
In response to the apparent change in Harris’ answer, the Trump campaign issued a strong statement calling for CBS to release the unedited version of the interview.
Karoline Leavitt, the National Press Secretary for Trump’s campaign, criticized the network’s decision to omit the initial statement.
“Why did 60 Minutes choose not to air Kamala’s full word salad, and what else did they choose not to air?” Leavitt asked in a statement released Tuesday night. “The American people deserve the full, unedited transcript from Kamala’s sit-down interview. We call upon 60 Minutes and CBS to release it. What do they, and Kamala, have to hide?”
The Trump campaign’s concern goes beyond the editing of Harris’ response.
The initial statement from Harris, where she credited the Biden-Harris administration’s efforts in shaping Israeli movements in the region, could have significant political implications.
As the 2024 presidential race intensifies, Harris’ comments in this context could alienate key voter demographics in critical swing states.
