PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: The Democratic National Committee (DNC) launched an aerial protest over President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida on Wednesday, May 14, by flying a banner that read “Welcome to Qatar-a-Lago.”

This comes as the president, who is currently touring the Middle East, faces scrutiny over his deepening financial ties to Qatar.

The move is the latest in a growing controversy surrounding Trump’s alleged acceptance of extravagant gifts and lucrative business deals from foreign governments, Mediaite reported.

The protest was timed to coincide with Trump’s visit to the Middle East, where he is reportedly finalizing a multi-billion-dollar golf resort project in Qatar.

Adding fuel to the fire, reports suggest the Qatari royal family is considering gifting Trump a $400 million Boeing 747-8 luxury jet, a plane he’s allegedly eyeing as a potential replacement for his “Trump Force One.”

DNC Chair Ken Martin condemned the president’s dealings, accusing him of leveraging his political profile for personal gain.

“Donald Trump is using the presidency to personally enrich himself while he bankrupts working families,” Martin said in a statement, before adding, “His corruption is a slap in the face to the millions of Americans who are struggling to get by and put food on the table.”

He criticized Trump for being quick to “sell out America’s working families to the highest bidder.”

Martin emphasized that Trump’s ongoing relationship with foreign billionaires is not only unethical but dangerous. “Today, the DNC is highlighting what foreign autocracies around the world already know. Trump has no loyalty to the American people, national security, or the Constitution. His only allegiance is to his bank account and his billionaire buddies,” he added.
