'Do not let him off the hook': Jimmy Kimmel urges Nikki Haley to take on Trump's 'aptitude test' challenge
MANHATTAN, NEW YORK CITY: On the night of January 23, Jimmy Kimmel encouraged Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley to accept Donald Trump's challenge to an "aptitude test."
"Let’s do this," Kimmel exclaimed during his show. He urged Haley not to miss the opportunity and insisted, "She should call him on that immediately, right? Do not let him off the hook. Take him up on it."
Kimmel responds to Trump's aptitude challenge calling it 'Cognition Impossible'
Kimmel highlighted Nikki Haley's comments on Trump and Biden's age, stating, "She keeps saying that Trump and Biden are too old to be president, and he doesn't like that at all."
"I would sit down right now and take an aptitude test, and it would be my result against her result," Trump declared during an appearance on Fox News.
Trump further responded, "Well, I think I'm a lot sharper than her. I would do this; I would sit down right now and take an aptitude test, and it would be my result against her result, and she's not going to win. Not going to even come close to winning."
Kimmel humorously remarked, "He's something; he differentiates one whale from one giraffe, all of a sudden he thinks he's Ken Jennings or something."
Kimmel then suggested, "If this is his idea, let's do this. She should call him on that immediately. Do not let him off the hook. Let's get that test going, the two of you need to sit down side by side on live television – not so close he can cheat off you, but pretty close to each other".
"We'll put a divider between you so he doesn't get chicken nugget grease on your dress, and let's find out whose brain works better. We'll call it 'Cognition Impossible.' It would be the television event of the year," he added.
Kimmel playfully grills Trump on defining the word 'aptitude'
In the segment, Kimmel humorously questioned Trump's understanding of the term "aptitude".
"Question, Mr Trump: Define the word 'aptitute," Kimmel quipped, setting the stage for a lighthearted take on the former president's challenge.
Kimmel seized the opportunity to provide his own tongue-in-cheek definition of aptitude, imitating Trump, "It's when the plane goes up," he remarked, adding a comical twist to the discussion.
Expressing his amusement, Kimmel shared, "That's it, I'd love to host that show. I bet he couldn't pass the quiz on a Denny's place mat."
Kimmel's playful banter highlighted the irony of Trump's challenge and added a touch of levity to the ongoing exchange between political figures.
