PALM BEACH, FLORDIA: Vice President-elect JD Vance recently shared a picture of President-elect Donald Trump and upcoming first lady, Melania Trump, on X (formerly Twitter) and it has garnered attention for not the obvious reasons.

The picture, posted by Vance on Thursday, December 12, showed the back of Melania's head, and it appeared to reveal a piece of her extensions. Soon, hair experts dropped their views on this.

Experts weigh in on Melania Trump's viral image

JD Vance captioned the post, "Ready to ring the bell on the New York Stock Exchange. President Trump will lead a great American comeback!"

The post has already garnered more than 2 million views.

The photo appeared to reveal, as experts claim, Melania's hair extensions.

Hairstylist and founder of luxury wig brand Wigonia Julia North told Daily Mail, "Looking at that specific photo, yes, those appear to be tape-in or beaded-row extensions. You can spot the telltale signs where the natural hair meets the extension pieces, particularly visible in the mid-sections."

She added, "I'd say she's likely wearing premium quality, European human hair extensions, probably 18 to 20 inches in length."

North said that she thinks that the installation appears to be a combination method or a "hybrid system", done using both tape-ins for volume and individual beaded rows for length, per the outlet.

Saraphine Nurse, UNice hairstylist and extensions specialist, said, "The fullness and texture at the ends are often signs of added volume or length." Nurse believes that it could be "clip-ins or tape-ins for a seamless look".

Meanwhile, North went on to explain, "This is actually a very common choice for public figures because it allows for versatile styling while maintaining natural movement."

She also complimented Melania saying, "The color work is excellent though - they're perfectly matched to her natural shade, which is crucial for seamless blending."

The hairstylist added that it doesn't look like the extensions are permanent, as Melania has shown off different hair lengths throughout her recent time in the public eye.

She mentioned, "What's interesting is that in different public appearances, you can see varying degrees of volume and length, which suggests she likely alternates between different extension sets depending on the event and styling needs."

Melania Trump takes fashion inspiration from Jacqueline Kennedy

When Melania Trump first arrived at the White House, she channeled Jacqueline Kennedy's style during Donald Trump’s 2017 inauguration with a striking baby-blue Ralph Lauren ensemble.

Notably, her fashion choices have often evoked Jackie’s iconic looks. Her wardrobe has consistently echoed Jackie’s signature tight-waisted, tailored outfits, labeling her as a modern parallel to the former first lady, according to Daily Mail.

However, unlike Jackie, who famously preferred pearls, Melania loves her diamonds. Melania's jewelry collection includes her Graff engagement ring - a 15-carat emerald-cut diamond gifted by her husband in 2004, which is around $2 million today.

An insider reportedly joked that the diamond is so dazzling that "friends and colleagues have to put sunglasses on".
