Don Jr jokes about inheriting dad Donald Trump's iconic hair, says 'I'm doing good' in that department
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In a recent conversation about cryptocurrency on X, formerly known as Twitter, Donald Trump Jr inadvertently revealed that he doesn’t view his father, Donald Trump, as flawless.
During the discussion, he jokingly expressed concern about the possibility of inheriting his father's unconventional hairstyle.
Don Jr jokes about inheriting his father Donald Trump's hair
Donald Trump Jr remarked, "As a Trump who may or may not one day inherit the Trump hair genes, I don't make fun. I don't mock it," in response to a host comparing his hair to that of the former president.
He added, "Cause you never know ... So far, I'm 46, I'm doing pretty good in the hair department," humorously referring to himself as "an old man."
This isn't the first time Don Jr has contemplated the fate of his hairline. In a 2015 interview with the late Barbara Walters, he discussed whether he and his siblings ever joked about their father's hair.
He said, "Well, I like not to because you never know what happens genetically. As a male, I'll say it's doing okay right now, but I'm not going to wish that upon myself. I got a couple of years."
So far, Don Jr's hairline appears to be holding up, and he clearly appreciates that.
Don Jr couldn't help but make hair joke after Donald Trump's assassination attempt
Interestingly, this isn’t a new topic for Donald Trump Jr After a dramatic incident in July 2024 when an assassination attempt resulted in a bullet grazing Donald Trump's ear, Don Jr couldn't help but make a joke about it.
He joked, "Can I call you Evander Holyfield because of the missing chunk of ear?" referencing the famous boxer known for his ear-related incident with Mike Tyson.
He then steered the conversation back to hair, asking, "Most importantly, how's the hair?" To which Donald responded, "The hair is fine, Don. The hair is fine. A lot of blood in it, but it's fine."
Additionally, it appears Don Jr isn't the only one in the Trump family with mixed feelings about their father's hairstyle. In the same Barbara Walters interview, Ivanka Trump referred to her father's hair as "the norm" and "the only hair we've ever known."
However, author Michael Wolff pointed out in his book 'Fire and Fury: Inside The Trump White House' that Ivanka had actually made her father’s hair a target for jokes.
According to Wolff, she interacted with her father "with a degree of detachment, even irony, going so far as to make fun of his comb-over to others."
He added that she "often described the mechanics behind it to friends... explaining how all ends are drawn up to meet in the center and then swept back and secured with a stiffening spray."
