WASHINGTON, DC: Donald Trump declared late on Friday night, August 2, that he had agreed to debate Kamala Harris in September after receiving an offer from Fox News.

The discussion will take place in Pennsylvania on September 4 and be anchored by Martha MacCallum and Bret Baier of Fox News, according to a post made on Truth Social by the former president.

Kamala Harris wants Donald Trump to stick to scheduled ABC News debate

Kamala Harris has insisted that Donald Trump adhere to the September 10 debate on ABC News, which was supposed to include a confrontation between the former president and the current US president Joe Biden.

The 77-year-old had consented to the debate on ABC News earlier but Trump has said that it would not be "fair" in light of Harris' rise to the Democratic nominee for president following Biden's withdrawal from the contest.

Donald Trump has 'conflict of interest' with ABC News network

Additionally, Donald Trump asserted on Friday that there is a "conflict of interest" between ABC News and him due to his continuing legal battles with ABCthe network and their anchor George Stephanopoulos.

“I spent Hundreds of Millions of Dollars, Time, and Effort fighting Joe, and when I won the Debate, they threw a new Candidate into the ring. Not fair, but it is what it is! Nevertheless, different Candidate or not, their bad Policies are the same, and this will be strongly revealed at the September 4th Debate,” Trump railed in the Truth Social post.

He said “the Rules will be similar to the Rules of my Debate with Sleepy Joe” but this debate would include “A FULL ARENA AUDIENCE” at a to-be-announced venue.

Donald Trump's campaign initially refused to finalize debate with Kamala Harris

Previously, Donald Trump's team stated that it would not complete arrangements for debates until Kamala Harris was properly announced as the Democratic nominee.

Team Harris declined to comment on whether or not she will accept the Fox News confrontation in a statement that was uploaded to X on Saturday.

“We’re happy to discuss further debates after the one both campaigns have already agreed to. Mr. Anytime, anywhere, anyplace should have no problem with that unless he’s too scared to show up on the 10th,” she said in the post, falsely asserting that Trump had previously agreed to debate her.

Donald Trump says Kamala Harris 'doesn’t have the mental capacity' to face him

Donald Trump responded later on Saturday saying Kamala Harris “doesn’t have the mental capacity” to face him. “I’ll see her on September 4th or, I won’t see her at all,” he said, per New York Post.

Harris, who has never won a primary, received enough votes on Friday to guarantee her nomination.

For weeks now, Trump has been bragging about his triumph against Biden following the latter's dismal showing in their June debate. This ultimately sparked a push inside the Democratic party to remove the 81-year-old president from the ticket.

Kamala Harris publicly taunts Donald Trump at campaign event

Kamala Harris openly mocked Donald Trump on Tuesday during a campaign event for pulling out of the debate scheduled for September 10. “Here’s the funny thing about that: So he won’t debate, but he and his running mate sure seemed to have a lot to say about me,” she said.

“I do hope you’ll reconsider and meet me on the debate stage, because, as the saying goes, ‘if you’ve got something to say, say it to my face!’” she added, to raucous cheers from the audience.

Internet says Kamala Harris' 'gonna get absolutely cooked by' Donald Trump

Online users took the side of the former president, asserting that he would verbally destroy the newly announced Democratic presidential candidate during their Fox News debate later this year. One X user tweeted, "She’s gonna get absolutely cooked by the GOAT."

Another wrote, "She didn’t even show up for the black journalists, you think she’ll show up for Fox? She can’t win on substance and she’s a coward."

"She will back out. She is basement bound like Joe Biden did," echoed one more user.

"She’ll probably back out. She can barely take questions from even friendly media, let alone a 1v1 with Trump," remarked someone else.
