SMITHTON, PENNSYLVANIA: Donald Trump has vowed to be the "protector" of women if he is elected for president in November.

Addressing the crowd at a rally in Pennsylvania on Monday night, September 23, Trump declared, "I make this statement to the great women of our country... I am your protector. I want to be your protector. As president, I have to be your protector."

Donald Trump's focus on abortion and women's issues

In a bold statement, Donald Trump, who has often taken credit for his role in the overturning of Roe v Wade, a landmark decision that stripped women of their constitutional right to abortion promised that under his leadership, said women would "no longer be thinking about abortion."

The former president revisited an argument he made last week in a Truth Social post, claiming that women in the country are worse off than they were four years ago.

"Women are poorer, less healthy, and more stressed and depressed and unhappy than they were four years ago," he said.

"I will fix all of that and fast, and at long last, this nation—our national nightmare will end," he added, according to The Independent.

Donald Trump promises women will 'no longer be in danger'

The Republican presidential nominee doubled down on his pledge to protect women, claiming that his administration would ensure safety from violence in urban areas, migrant crime in the suburbs, and foreign threats.

"I will make you safe at the border, on the sidewalks of your now violent cities, in the suburbs where you are under migrant criminal siege, and with our military protecting you from foreign enemies," said Trump.

Promising a picture of a future where women would no longer feel abandoned, scared, or anxious, he said, "You will no longer be in danger—you’re not gonna be in danger any longer."

"You will no longer have anxiety from all of the problems our country has today. You will be protected, and I will be your protector," he promised.

He concluded his post by reiterating that women under his presidency would be "happy, healthy, confident, and free" and no longer preoccupied with the issue of abortion, which he claimed is the focus of Democrats.

Internet mocks Donald Trump for claiming he will protect women if re-elected

After Donald Trump promised women he will be their "protector" if he wins presidency in the November election, netizens mocked the former president's remarks.

One user on X wrote, "Surely there is no woman who hears this garbage and thinks “oh yes, Trump will be my protector!” Another added, "This is so disgustingly manipulative."

"Trump saying he is the protector of women is like saying the wolf is the protector of the sheep. He is totally weird, out of touch and obviously can’t accept that a woman bested him in a debate- because women need him as a protector," a netizen commented.

"Is he aware that this is how fascists talk?!" an individual opined. Another remarked, "TRUMP TALKING ABOUT 'PROTECTING WOMEN'... WHAT A JOKE."
