WASHINGTON, DC: Former President Donald Trump sharply criticized Fox News following the release of a poll indicating that he is trailing President Joe Biden nationally for the first time in 2024.

The poll revealed a slight edge for Biden, with 50% of respondents indicating they would vote for him in November, compared to 48% supporting Trump, reported The Hill.

This latest Fox News poll shows a three-point improvement for Biden from May results, where the former president led by one point.

Donald Trump says Fox News polls never treated him 'or MAGA fairly'

In a Truth Social post, Trump said, “The latest Fox News poll is TRASH!  They used a biased, Democrat-leaning sample of voters, polling more Biden 2020 voters than Trump 2020 voters to skew the results in favor of Crooked Joe.”

“I am leading BIG in virtually every other poll, including in all of the key battleground states, like Wisconsin, where I just held a massive rally, and Pennsylvania, where I will be on Saturday,” he continued.

“Fox News polls have never treated me, or MAGA, fairly! Don’t worry, we will WIN!!! Fox News should get rid of Paul Ryan, and get a new Pollster, but they won’t,” Trump added.

The poll marks a significant milestone, as it is the first time Biden has reached 50% support and led Trump in a Fox News poll since October.

Third-party candidates' impact on polls

When third-party candidates are factored into the poll, Biden's lead narrows to just one point, with 43 percent to Trump's 42 percent.

Independent candidates Robert F Kennedy Jr. and Cornel West garnered 10% and 2% support, respectively.

Green Party candidate Jill Stein has received 2% support.

The poll also noted a significant shift among independent voters, a critical demographic in the race.

Biden now leads Trump by nine points among independents, a notable 11-point swing from May when Trump led by two points.

Contrary to the Fox News poll, an Emerson College/The Hill poll released on Thursday, June 20 showed Trump with an advantage over Biden in several swing states.

Trump leads by four points over the president in Arizona and Georgia, three points up in Wisconsin and Nevada, and two points up in Pennsylvania.

The former president leads by one point in Michigan, and the two candidates are tied in Minnesota.

Trump and Biden will face off in their first presidential debate on CNN on June 27 in Atlanta.
