WASHINGTON, DC: A video of President Joe Biden's side profile has sparked conspiracy theories that a body double is posing as the 81-year-old Democrat incumbent.

The video has elicited unfounded theories from Donald Trump’s supporters who believe that President Biden is wearing a mask, according to The Sun.

The conversation surrounding Biden's appearance was sparked on X, formerly Twitter, where many users discussed a blurry video clip that captured some wrinkles around the US president's neck and chin.

Some ever-ardent Trump supporters have argued that the man in the video is a body double wearing a Biden-shaped mask.

What prompted netizens to ponder whether the clip shows Biden or his body double?

President Joe Biden has faced criticism for his advancing age since taking office, with some questioning whether the commander-in-chief’s health will last him another presidential term.

A special counsel report concluded that his memory was "poor" and had "significant limitations."

The counsel investigated Joe Biden after he admitted to having classified documents in his Vermont home, shortly after documents were recovered from Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate.

No charges were filed against President Joe Biden, but the 77-year-old MAGA strongman is facing a pending federal criminal case related to his alleged mishandling of confidential and sensitive information.

Despite these challenges, Joe Biden continues to urge the public that his memory is fine.

Although there is truth to some of President Biden's criticisms, it is of the utmost importance to remember that there is no proof to support that he is wearing a mask or that the Democrat statesman is somehow hiding his identity.

Matt Novak wrote for Forbes last year when this Biden body double theory was floated, "You can love him or hate him, but there's nothing to show he's actually an imposter.”

"That's Biden, wrinkles and all," he added at the time.

Internet divided as Biden's body double theory grips netizens' imagination

One X user remarked, "Whether real or doppelgänger matters not. The destruction of America is very real."

Another user wrote, "Yes, enjoy the show."

Another user claimed, "So far I’ve seen possibly five different actors playing Joe, with the latest being the one they had meeting with the Chinese last week. AF1-full-on-ballchinian Joe is still my fav so far, with Kevin Spacey running a close second."

One user said, "No. It doesn't add up. I understand why people think so but Joe's had a couple brain surgeries, and he's old. If doubles or clones are used, how do they all say the same lies, fabrications, exaggerations, similar fragile-walking, the shitting-himself incidents, blunders, sleeping, hot-mic burps, etc."

Another X user argued, "Anything is possible if you practice enough, learn your lines etc."

Finally, this user tweeted, "Probably but there are some instances where he gets close to children's faces and all it will take is for one of them to scratch at his face and we'll find out. That would be hilarious."
