PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA: President Joe Biden is embarking on an unconventional campaign trail in Pennsylvania, making stops at the state's renowned convenience stores.

Amid the intensifying battle for Pennsylvania's electoral votes, Biden's visits to both Sheetz and Wawa have sparked significant reactions.

The visits have brought up the long-standing rivalry between fans of the two chains that split the state. Senator John Fetterman, a die-hard Sheetz supporter, jokingly criticized Biden for going to Wawa, as per the New York Post.

Fetterman took a playful jab at President Biden following his recent visit to Wawa. "He *was* my president… #TeamSheetz," he humorously remarked on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, April 19.

On Thursday, April 18, Biden found himself in the heart of Wawa territory, visiting a Center City Philadelphia location where he enjoyed an Italian hoagie and a black-white milkshake. This visit occurred a day after he had purchased snacks at Sheetz in Pittsburgh.

In Pennsylvania, the competition between fans of Sheetz and Wawa is frequently compared to the rivalry between the NFL’s Pittsburgh Steelers and Philadelphia Eagles.

"Wawa is perfectly great if you’re 50 miles or more from a Sheetz," Fetterman had previously remarked.

Biden's visits to both Sheetz and Wawa appear to be a strategic move to appeal to the diverse tastes and loyalties of Pennsylvania's electorate. Pennsylvania, with its 19 electoral votes, remains a crucial battleground in the upcoming presidential election.

Biden, hailing from Scranton, narrowly leads former President Donald Trump in Pennsylvania by just 0.1 percentage point, as per the RealClearPolitics poll average.
