LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The 96th Academy Awards witnessed a moment of sheer brilliance when Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt took to the stage, igniting a comedic battle of wits that left the audience in stitches.

In a delightful display of camaraderie and playful banter, the duo brought their supposed 'Barbenheimer' rivalry to life, skillfully navigating between witty jabs and heartfelt admiration for their fellow artists.

As they prepared to honor the unsung heroes of the industry – the stunt performers – Gosling and Blunt masterfully set the tone for an evening that celebrated not only cinematic excellence but also the enduring power of chemistry and humor, as per Variety.

Blunt kicked off the banter with a faux-frosty greeting, to which Gosling responded with a nod to their supposed rivalry, saying, "I'm just happy we can finally put this Barbenheimer rivalry behind us." Blunt then quipped, "And the way this awards season's turned out, it wasn't that much of a rivalry, so, just let it go."

The exchange only escalated from there, with Gosling jokingly accusing Blunt's movie, 'Oppenheimer,' of riding on the coattails of his film, 'Barbie.'

"I think you guys are at the tail end of it because you were riding Barbie's coattails all summer," he said, prompting Blunt's scathing response: "Thanks for Ken-splaining that to me, Mr I-need-to-paint-my-abs-on-to-get-nominated - you don't see Robert Downey Jr doing that."
