Donald Trump ‘feels annoyed’ by one habit of Melania and Barron as it makes him feel left out
WASHINGTON, DC: Donald Trump, the Republican presidential candidate, is reportedly unhappy with the impact his wife, Melania Trump, has on their son, Barron Trump, who has largely kept out of the public eye.
Barron, now 18, was primarily raised by his mother, Melania, and is fluent in her native Slovenian. Reportedly, this has frustrated Trump, who feels left out of the conversations between Melania and Barron.
Mary Jordan reveals Barron Trump speaks Slovenian
Journalist Mary Jordan, the writer of 'The Art of Her Deal,' noted that Barron occasionally speaks Slovenian with US Secret Service agents, which they fail to comprehend.
“There’s a unit within the family unit, and it’s Melania, her mother, her father, and Barron. And they all speak Slovenian,” Jordan told CBS News in 2020. The report has resurfaced amid scrutiny of Barron and Melania
Trump has expressed frustration over not understanding the conversations in Slovenian, as he has not made an effort to learn the language. Similarly, the US Secret Service agents are also unable to understand Slovenian, just like the former president.
Meanwhile, Trump has voiced his frustration at being unable to understand their conversations. “He has said it annoys him sometimes because he has no idea what they’re saying,” Jordan added.
Melania Trump, originally from Slovenia, has been protective of Barron, keeping him out of the media spotlight and ensuring he maintains a low profile. She and Donald Trump married in 2005, and their son Barron was born in 2006.
Melania Trump stresses the importance of English in America
Unlike Donald Trump's older children, who are more active in public life, Barron has mostly remained out of the limelight, with Melania diligently protecting his privacy. Recently, however, Barron has begun to make more public appearances.
He is said to be multilingual, including proficiency in French. Despite his marriage to Melania since 2005, Trump has not learned Slovenian, which appears to have exacerbated his feelings of exclusion within his family.
Melania has emphasized the importance of speaking English in America in her public statements, saying, “My opinion is that [the] more languages you speak, better it is, but when you come to America, you speak English.”
Discussion about Barron’s language skills intensified in August 2024 when a video of him speaking with a Slovenian accent as a child resurfaced online.
Here's footage of Barron speaking at the age of 4 – with a Slovenian accent, due to his lack of meaningful interaction with people other than his mother.
