PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: Donald Trump expressed there should be more time given than six weeks referring to Florida's present abortion ban law.

Talking to Daily Mail from his Mar-a-Lago residence, the Republican presidential nominee said, “Well, I do know, but I do want more than six weeks. I want more than six weeks.”

He emphasized, “I think six weeks is a mistake. And I'll be expressing that soon, but I want more than six weeks.”

“And in Florida, we have a six-week program, and that's what I believe that you're voting on, and I think it should be more than six weeks,” Trump continued.

Donald Trump promised his administration will be women-friendly

Interestingly, Donald Trump is yet to announce how he will vote in Florida’s referendum, but has hinted earlier, “My Administration will be great for women and their reproductive rights.”

During the interview with the outlet, the former president shared, “So IVF fertilization, we're the leader in that, in the sense of we want women to be able to be taken care of by good doctors, good professionals.”

“As far as abortion is concerned, for 52 years, people have wanted to take Roe v Wade out of the picture and bring it back to states. And we were, I was able to do that,” he continued.

Trump also cleared, “Now, I happen to be like Ronald Reagan in favor of exceptions for rape, incest and the life of the mother, and I think it's a very good thing.”

JD Vance's take on Florida's abortion-ban referendum

Meanwhile, Donald Trump's running mate JD Vance addressed the subject over the weekend rally. "Donald Trump's view is that we want the individual states and their individual cultures and their unique political sensibilities to make these decisions because we don’t want to have a nonstop federal conflict over this issue," he said.

He added, “I don't mind answering that question, but there's no reason to, because the states are all voting.”

"We have many states voting coming up, including Florida, and the states are all voting on this. But remember this, the Democrats have a problem because they're willing to do abortion ... think of this ... in the ninth month, and in some cases even even after birth, they're willing to kill the baby," the senator continued.

While running for his Senate seat in January 2022, Vance was open about wanting to make abortion illegal on a national scale. "I certainly would like abortion to be illegal nationally," he said during a podcast appearance at the time.
