PARIS, FRANCE: The internet is abuzz with admiration after President-elect Donald Trump greeted and praised Prince William during the monumental Notre-Dame Cathedral restoration ceremony in Paris.

The interaction between the two prominent individuals, observed for the second time on Saturday, December 7, involved an exchange of courtesies that swiftly garnered global attention on social media.

At the event, the two prominent figures were observed having a brief exchange, with Prince William and Trump shaking hands and President-elect patting on the shoulder of Prince.



 

The grand ceremony on Saturday, December 7, celebrated the reopening of the renowned cathedral, five years after a fire ravaged the landmark, destroying its exquisite stained-glass windows and wooden interior.

After the ceremony, Prince William and Trump engaged in a "warm" and "friendly" 40-minute meeting at the British ambassador's residence, following an earlier handshake at a reopening ceremony, as reported by Sky News.

In the diplomat's residence, the duo engaged in discussions on various global matters, with a particular emphasis on the significance of the special relationship between the UK and the US.

The palace mentioned that Trump "shared some warm and fond memories" with Prince William regarding his late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, an exchange for which the 42-year-old royal expressed "extremely grateful."

Upon Trump's arrival, they exchanged handshakes, and the president-elect, set to assume office on January 20, gestured towards William and remarked, "Good man, this one," before he told the group of reporters that William was doing a "fantastic job."

During their handshake, the Prince inquired if Trump had "warmed up" following the ceremony, to which he replied, "I haven’t warmed up yet [but] I had a good time, it was a beautiful ceremony."

William said, "We can warm our toes up after the cathedral" and Trump smiled in response, "Right, you're right."

Their last meeting occurred during his state visit to the UK in 2019.

Internet erupts with praise for Donald Trump

As soon as the video of Trump and Prince William's meeting went viral on social media, users started hailing the president-elect. 

A user wrote, "The King is in the house, meeting with Prince Williams."



 

Another added, "He's the boss. He's probably there meeting with them to tell them to do something with the out if this world censorship happening in the UK."



 

A third commentator remarked, "I saw that power move. You took his hand to shake it and stepped into him moving him back."



 

"Good job President Trump," wrote a supporter.



 

An individual commended Trump for his complimentary remarks about Prince William, "He's a got a little word for everybody. So kind."
