MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: Donald Trump's lawyer Alina Habba has launched a scathing attack against Stormy Daniels' testimony in the former president's hush money criminal trial.

Labeling the prosecution's line of questioning as "complete garbage", Habba cited what she deemed as "inconsistent" accounts of the events, according to OK Magazine.

Alina Habba says hush money trial prosecution is 'completely discredited'

Weighing in on adult film star Daniels' testimony during the hush money trial on Tuesday, May 7, Habba said, "I was in the courtroom today. I was in the courtroom yesterday."

"What’s more compelling to me is that the prosecution, whose case, frankly, in my opinion, has been destroyed, is completely discredited," she told host Sean Hannity of Fox News.

"And now they are saying as of yesterday that they want another two weeks. And that, to me, says it all," she added.

Alina Habba claims cases against Donald Trump are 'politically motivated'

Echoing Habba's sentiments, Hannity claimed, "As a matter of law, everything she talked about today was immaterial. I mean, it has really nothing to do with the law."

"Was she pressured to deny the affair in 2006? Was she similarly pressured to deny it in 2011? Was she pressured to deny it in 2016? Was she pressed pressured to deny it in 2017?" he shared.

"Because that’s an awful lot of times that she was out there denying it and then admits she wanted to make money and sell a book," Hannity added and Habba agreed as she said, "That’s correct. And I’m not going to speak to her testimony."

Revealing that the defense will cross-examine Daniels on Thursday, May 9, Habba said, "She’s currently under oath, and we’re going to continue cross-examining her on Thursday ... What I will say is this, Sean, when you have inconsistencies with any witness, it speaks volumes."

"When you’re rushing cases, when you’re bringing cases that are not true, when you’re politically motivated, in time it will show. I always tell the American people, sit tight and wait," she shared.

"What we saw today was a story that I’ve heard for a decade that is complete garbage. And finally, the facts are coming out and the cases are falling apart like a domino, one at a time," Habba continued.

"You’ve seen it in Georgia. We’re seeing it with Jack Smith. And guess what? We’re seeing now in New York," she concluded.

Internet reacts to Alina Habba's claims against Stormy Daniels

Reacting to Habba slamming Daniels' testimony in the hush money trial, one user on X (formerly Twitter) wrote, "I really hope this also leads to Habba getting disbarred."

One user wrote, "Is it in any way ethical for someone's personal lawyer to publicly attack witnesses in another case involving their client?"

"Can't wait for the defamation suit against Habba," a user tweeted, and a netizen commented, "How much you wanna bet that Alina Habba gets punished before Trump does?"

"So, since Trump can’t attack witnesses, he thinks his legal think can do it. Unbelievable!" a user tweeted.
