TWO RIVERS, WISCONSIN: Elijah Vue, the 3-year-old boy from Wisconsin has been missing for 4 weeks now. Two Rivers Police confirmed on Monday, March 18 that the red and white plaid blanket found earlier in the investigation is his.

The blanket was found in Manitowoc County on Goodwin Road, east of County Road B. It was roughly 3.7 miles from the apartment complex where Vue was first reported missing, according to ABC 12.

Elijah Vue was last seen at his mother's boyfriend Jesse Vang's home

Elijah Vue was last seen on February 20 at the residence of Jesse Vang, the boyfriend of his mother, which is located in the 3900 block of Mishicot Road in Two Rivers. Vang was taken into custody on suspicion of abusing children. Katrina Baur, Vue's mother, was also detained and accused of child neglect.

Vang said that due to reported behavioral issues, Baur let Elijah Vue live with him for a few weeks beginning on February 12.

Vang took Vue into a bedroom at around eight in the morning and told him to stand by the bed and pray, according to a criminal complaint. Vang then reported the child missing.

Three hours after going to sleep, Vang said he woke up and the child had disappeared. Among other pieces of evidence, investigators discovered a shoe that matched Vue's description of the shoe he was wearing when he disappeared near Vang's apartment.

Investigators have gathered evidence near Vang's apartment, including a shoe that matches Vue's description at the time of his disappearance. Search volunteers, family members, and local authorities gathered in Two Rivers for a vigil to show that the community is not giving up on finding Vue.

”I know we won’t stop,” Adam Wachowski, the city council president for Two Rivers, said, WI Proud reports. “And we can’t stop until Elijah is brought home.”

During the vigil, Dillon stated that she hoped the event would inspire others to help and that she fears people will get discouraged.

“That’s what tonight’s about,” Dillon said. “Getting that hope back up. He’s still out there and we can’t give up,” he added.

Two Rivers Department sets $40K reward for finding Elijah Vue

In addition, $10,000 from Manitowoc County Crime Stoppers, $15,000 from the FBI, and $15,000 from the city are included in this.

Vue is described as white, Hmong, and having brown eyes and dark blond hair. He weighs about thirty to forty pounds, is three feet tall, and has a birthmark on his left knee. When last seen, he was donning a dark, long-sleeved shirt, gray pants, and dinosaur slip-on shoes in red and green. He might have had a red and white checkered blanket with him.
