TWO RIVERS, WISCONSIN: Elijah Vue, 3, was last seen at a residence on Mishicot Road in Two Rivers, roughly 45 miles southeast of Green Bay, on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at around 8 am.

Vue's mother Katrina Baur was reportedly taken into custody by police on Tuesday, according to the nonprofit search organization Missing Pieces Network.

Baur's charges are not yet listed on an inmate list of the Manitowoc County Sheriff's Office, according to WHBY.

Resident of  same address also taken into custody

There were no family members or other "associates" in the area when the child vanished, according to the police. On Tuesday night, Jesse Vang, a resident of the same Mishicot Road address from where Elijah Vue went missing, was also taken into custody.

On Wednesday, investigators were spotted searching the apartment complex off Mishicot Road while donning gloves.

Elijah's uncle, Orson Vue, said that the family is doing everything they can to remain optimistic while volunteers from all over Northeast Wisconsin participate in a comprehensive search.

“We haven’t found out anything new. It’s the same thing as last night. I think from what the detective told us this morning, they’re basically doing searches all over again. At this point, more family members are here and we are just trying to support each other asking the community if they have any information,” said Orson Vue, according to WBAY.

“We’re extremely worried, we’re all emotional at this point, at the moment. And we don’t want to think of the bad stuff that may have possibly happened to him and we’re hopeful,” Orson added.

While family members waited along Mishicot Road, neighbors attempted to assist by knocking on doors and calling out for Elijah.

Jessica Shields, a Two Rivers resident, said, “I don’t know Elijah from a can of paint, him or his family, but by being a mother, it just doesn’t sit right with me being at home, just doing nothing."

"We have been in the woods, we have been in the neighborhoods looking, in sheds, I crawled under homes, we’ve been everywhere, but it don’t stop, it don’t stop,” she added.

Elijah Vue's description by authorities

Elijah is described as having brown eyes and dark blond hair, and he is of Hmong and white ethnicity. His left knee bears a birthmark, and he stands three feet tall, as reported by CrimeOnline.

When last seen, he was donning a dark, long-sleeved shirt, gray pants, and dinosaur slip-on shoes in red and green. He might have had a red and white checkered blanket with him.
