LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Elon Musk never shies away from a little political drama while he's busy launching cutting-edge rockets into space or rolling out the next best EV.

This time, however, the tech billionaire set his sights on none other than Eminem — throwing some shade at the rapper’s political loyalties and even tossing in a wild claim about a potential connection to P Diddy.

Elon Musk’s controversial comment about Eminem and Diddy

On Tuesday, October 22, Eminem made headlines when he stepped up at a Kamala Harris rally in Detroit, showing his support for the Vice President. And he didn’t just lend his endorsement—he went all in, bringing out former president Barack Obama for a surprise cameo.

It was a move that had everyone talking, but apparently it rubbed some people the wrong way. One of those people was Musk, of course. The Tesla and SpaceX head honcho — who has become a pretty vocal Donald Trump supporter of late — wasn’t exactly thrilled about Slim Shady’s endorsement.

When an X account shared a screenshot of a TMZ article revealing that Eminem would be introducing Obama at the rally, Musk responded to the post with a cryptic jab: “Yet another Diddy party participant.”

Now, unless you've been living under a rock, you’ll know why that comment might be rather controversial. Diddy is currently facing some serious legal trouble for a litany of sex crimes—he’s in custody at Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center with a trial set for May 5, 2025.

The music mogul maintains his innocence with a not-guilty plea, but being associated with him right now is not exactly a good look given the nature of the allegations against him.

Musk’s post was a pretty bold move — especially since there’s zero evidence to suggest that Eminem and Diddy are chummy. In fact, the two have had a pretty rocky history, to say the least.

Eminem’s feud with Diddy and Musk's history

If there’s one thing Eminem is known for, it’s holding a grudge. Back in 2018 —on his Machine Gun Kelly diss track 'Killshot' — he brazenly took a shot at Diddy. “Kells, the day you put out a hit is the day Diddy admits that he put the hit out that got Pac killed," he spat.

Most recently, he seemed to take another swipe with a verse from his latest song 'Fuel': "I'm like an R A P E R, got so many SA's, SA's," Eminem rapped. Fans couldn’t help but interpret that as yet another not-so-subtle jab at Diddy, according to the Irish Star.

Plus, Eminem’s tight with 50 Cent, who’s been one of the loudest voices speaking out amid the allegations and investigations surrounding Diddy. So Musk’s insinuation that Eminem is somehow in Diddy’s inner circles has left a lot of people scratching their heads.

On the other hand, Musk and Diddy actually have a bit of a history themselves. In their book 'Character Limit', authors Kate Conger and Ryan Mac revealed that Musk even talked about his friendship with Diddy during a conversation with Revolt CEO Detavio Samuels. “I don’t know if you know this, but Puff is an investor in Twitter. You know, he’s a good friend of mine. We text a lot," he was quoted as saying.

And let’s also not forget that Musk wasn’t always on the opposite side of the fence when it came to Eminem either. When he was tangled up with the SEC two years ago, he actually quoted Eminem’s 'Without Me' in his court filings.

He cheekily wrote, “The [SEC] won’t let me be or let me be me so let me see…” Seems like the love has cooled, but the real reason is anyone’s guess—albeit politics probably has a lot to do with it.

Elon Musk slammed on social media for linking Eminem to Diddy

Elon Musk’s comment didn’t go unnoticed. In fact, it hugely backfired. Fans of Eminem quickly took to X to set the record straight.

"No. I think he hated Diddy. Em is a good man," one posted on X.

"Been dissing Diddy since ‘96 but okay," another pointed out.

"You know nothing about Eminem if this is your response," a user chimed in.

"Em never attended and has always been against Diddy. Do your research Elon! Where’s the community notes people so they can correct this inaccurate info?" read a comment.

"Eminem dissed Diddy his entire career. You were friends with him," someone else fumed.

"Elon L. If anything you were around Diddy more than he was, Eminem hates Diddy I mean listen to his songs," another offered.
