Elon Musk’s ‘poor’ relative claims he snubbed distant family with brutal text message
LIVERPOOL, ENGLAND: Elon Musk has been criticized for not forming a “special relationship” with his family members in the UK.
The Tesla CEO, who has now become a very integral part of incoming president Donald Trump’s administration, shares a close relationship with Liverpool as his late grandmother — Cora Amelia Robinson — was born there in 1923.
He himself spent time there as a young child during holidays, as reported by Daily Mail.
Elon Musk's blunt response to his relative
The 53-year-old once proudly called himself of “a British/English not an Afrilkaner background.”
When former prime minister of Britain Margaret Thatcher died in 2013, Elon Musk tweeted on X, “Always admired Margaret Thatcher -- she was tough, but sensible & fair, much like my English Nana.”

But as per one of Musk’s relatives, he’s now not interested in his distant family members.
Marshall Robinson, cousin of the richest man on the planet, shared, “I have never been in touch but one of the family did send him a social media message and he just said: 'What do you want?' That was it.”
Elon Musk’s relative finds him ‘stupid’
The 86-year-old retired merchant seaman also went on to call the businessman “stupid” as he noted, “It's pretty shocking with what he has become and how he's linked to the President-elect Donald Trump.”
“I'm shocked that I've now got a link to the White House. I obviously knew we were related because of the name Musk which is Scottish,” Robinson said.
Musk’s cousin further explained that though he has never met him, he “met his father in South Africa when I was in the merchant navy a long time ago.”
Another relative of Elon Musk believes 'he’s not mad'
Besides Marshall Robinson, his sister Shane, also spoke with Daily Mail about Elon Musk.
She said, “I have not been in touch with Elon - and I don't know what I'd say to him. I don't think Elon has snubbed the family but he hasn't shown any interest in us from what I know.”
“I have thought about getting in touch with Elon but I decided not to - we're his poor relations after all. I was shocked to learn we were related to him. I didn't realise the family connection until I started researching our family tree,” she mentioned.
The 67-year-old second cousin of Musk has, however, reportedly met X-owner's brother Kimbal two decades ago when he came to Britain with his grandmother.
“Cora once came over to see my dad more than 20 years ago so I asked him: 'Will you bring her to meet us?' And he did bring them. Cora brought Kimbal with her but Elon wasn't with them,” she stated.
Shane also noted that she “decided to look into my dad's side of the family but I had not got much information. I then searched for Kimbal's name and then everything came up about Elon. My computer lit up with all this stuff about Elon. It was a big shock.”
“I have been in touch with Elon's dad and he remembered my dad,” she told the publication, before referring to Musk as she added, “A lot of people say he is a bit mad but he is very intelligent - intelligent people often don't come across very well.”
