His sudden death, announced by his family on Sunday, October 25, has left a sad void in the world of cartoon and animation, where his voice helped bring so many familiar characters to life.

Bauza's family shared the heartbreaking news in a statement posted to his official Instagram account on Sunday. “Eric Bauza, Emmy Award-winning voice actor and the modern voice of iconic Looney Tunes characters Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, along with dozens of other beloved cartoon characters, has passed away suddenly. More details to come,” the post reads.
No further details about his death were included in the announcement. Bauza was widely known for taking on several roles in the 'Looney Tunes' universe, including Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Tweety, and Marvin the Martian. He also voiced Woody Woodpecker, showing his range across different generations of animated characters.
Eric Bauza built an award-winning career in voice acting
Over the years, Bauza became an important voice in children's entertainment. His work included 'Looney Tunes Cartoons', 'Bugs Bunny Builders', and 'Teen Titans Go', earning him three Children's and Family Emmy Awards.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, he won his first Emmy in 2022 for Outstanding Voice Performance in an Animated Program for 'Looney Tunes Cartoons'. Bauza went on to receive further recognition for his performances in 'Bugs Bunny Builders' in 2023 and 'Teen Titans Go' in 2025.
Beyond the 'Looney Tunes' franchise, Bauza voiced 'Puss in Boots' in the animated series 'The Adventures of Puss in Boots' and Baby Fozzie in 'Muppet Babies'. His other credits included 'The Fairly OddParents', 'The Powerpuff Girls' and 'Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie'.
