Eric Roberts admits he 'can't talk about' daughter Emma and sister Julia but sometimes he does it anyway

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Eric Roberts, a veteran actor and older brother of Julia Roberts, and father of Emma Roberts, is known for typically keeping quiet about his famous family.

Occasionally, however, he breaks his silence, as in a recent podcast episode in which he spoke subtly about his daughter and sister. While talking about his daughter, he gave insights into her career beginnings and how she has evolved over the years.

During an interview on the July 8 episode of the 'Still Here Hollywood' podcast, Eric the 68-year-old ‘Dark Knight' actor, responded to host Steve Kmetko's inquiry about his sister Julia Roberts by saying, "You'll have to ask her." 

He expressed his fondness for his famous 56-year-old sibling stating, "But I can’t talk about her. She don’t want to talk about it," reports People. Despite similar requests from his daughter, Emma, Eric admitted that she told me not to talk about her, but I stumbled and do. I’m not supposed to talk about either of them. But I do."

Despite these limitations, Eric couldn't resist praising his daughter, the 33-year-old 'American Horror Story' star he shares with his ex-wife Kelly Cunningham.

“I'm in love with my daughter's work these days," he said while discussing admired works in the industry, adding, “I can't believe how great she's become." "I'm so proud of her I can't see straight. Since her performance in 'Maybe I Do' until right now, she overwhelms me with pride and just, ‘Oh my God, here she goes again.’ And I’m just so happy to be her dad, because she’s kicking a**. And I’m so proud,"

When asked about his influence on Emma's career, Eric modestly claimed, “absolutely nothing. Except give her that name."

Internet baffled why Eric Roberts can't talk about his sister Julia Roberts

After Eric revealed that he was forbidden to talk about his sister and daughter, but inadvertently did so, many fans swiftly expressed their opinions.
