PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA: Eric Trump defended his father, former president and current GOP nominee Donald Trump, after his presidential debate on Tuesday, September 10 against VP Kamala Harris.

“Kamala’s Strategy: Lots of generic talk about absolutely nothing...,” Eric Trump wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

However, the Trump scion's take on the debate was considered a self-goal as Harris was widely considered to have gotten the better of Trump in the debate.

Donald Trump criticizes Kamala Harris over lack of clear policies

During the heated debate, Donald Trump slammed Harris for her flip-flops on policy, citing her prior record and declaring that "everything that she believed three and four years ago is out the window."

"She’s going to my philosophy now," he said, per Fox News. "In fact, I was going to send her a MAGA hat."

Trump also charged that Harris lacked an economic strategy, particularly in addressing the issue of growing inflation. "She copied Biden's plan. And it's like four sentences like 'Run, Spot, Run' for sentences that are just, oh, we'll try and lower taxes," Trump said. "She doesn't have a plan."

Harris also fired back, saying Trump "has no plan for you," and instead offered Americans an "opportunity economy."

Donald Trump takes jabs at Biden-Harris administration's immigration policies

Trump also turned his attention to border security and unauthorized immigration into the US, claiming that the Biden-Harris administration's policies have resulted in a "disaster" for the nation with historically high levels of unauthorized immigration.

Additionally, Trump attacked Harris for her part in the failed August 2021 departure from Afghanistan. He blamed Harris and President Joe Biden for the "13 people who were just viciously and violently killed."

Later, Harris moved to Project 2025 of the Heritage Foundation, saying that Trump "intends on implementing" what she called the "detailed and dangerous plan."

Trump insisted on Tuesday that he had "nothing to do with Project 2025," reiterating his denials of involvement in that initiative.

Donald Trump and Kamala Harris spar over abortion rights

Regarding abortion, Harris asserted that Trump would enact a nationwide ban on the procedure with no room for exceptions, even though Trump had just moments earlier stated that he supported abortion in cases of rape, incest, and motherhood.

Trump has continually declared that he will not sign legislation outlawing abortion on a national level and applauded the Supreme Court for reversing the historic Roe v Wade ruling, which returned the matter to the states.

Trump added in his rebuttal that Harris' remarks were an "absolute lie" and that he does not favor a national abortion ban. "As far as the abortion ban, no, I'm not in favor of an abortion ban, but it doesn't matter, because this issue has now been taken over by the states," Trump said.

Internet slammed Eric Trump for defending his father after the debate against Kamala Harris

Netizens berated Eric Trump for questioning Kamala Harris' strategy and defending his father after the heated ABC News faceoff.

One X user tweeted, "The debate was like watching a sad old man at thanksgiving dinner blather nonsensically as the host fed him and served the guests and entertained everyone and made him a plate of leftovers and put him in a van back home. And now we get to watch eric lie and pretend it wasn’t."

Another wrote, "Your father is getting dog walked, cry more contract child."

"Your father didn't say anything but the same tired old lies. She crushed it, you guys got nothing. He looked old, angry and wouldn't even look at either woman in the room," remarked one, while another said, "Harris crushed Trump. Keep up the whining."

"Rather have someone who conducts themselves like a human being, and says just enough than be a rambling egomaniac racist lying piece of like your dad," added someone else.
