LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Eva Mendes has called out an Instagram post that shared an AI-generated photo of Ryan Gosling and Johnny Depp hanging out at San Diego Comic-Con over the weekend.

The social media account in question, Opavisions, shared the image on Sunday, July 26, showing Depp dressed as Ebenezer Scrooge for his upcoming film 'Ebenezer,' while Gosling appeared alongside him in casual attire.

Eva Mendes slams AI-generated post

The now-deleted caption of the post reportedly read, “Some of our favorite moments from Comic-Con weren’t on stage, they were watching Ryan Gosling, Johnny Depp, and @slopaxo moving through the crowds like the unlikeliest best-friend trio.”

Mendes was quick to call out the post, commenting, “FAKE . Please let People know when you’re putting out AI.”

The 52-year-old actress and the La La Land star have been together for more than a decade after meeting while working on The Place Beyond the Pines in 2011.

The Opavisions account responded to Mendes' comment with three separate replies. One read, “OK we will sorry.” Another said, “Wow. I’m a big fan I love your movies.”

The last comment from the account said, “DISCLAIMER: THIS WAS AI***. Thank you for saying something. You’re right, and I’ll be more clear going forward. BTW, Ryan’s work has genuinely inspired me for years – ‘The Nice Guys’ (real SLOPAXO vibes) and ‘Beyond the Pines’ are some of my favorite films ever and a huge influence on the kind of entertaining stories I love creating one day.”

Johnny Depp appears as Ebenezer Scrooge

Meanwhile, both Gosling and Depp attended San Diego Comic-Con. However, there are no reports suggesting they met at the event.

The Edward Scissorhands star promoted Ebenezer at the event on July 23 while interacting with fans in character as Ebenezer Scrooge. At one point, he even appeared to take a subtle dig at President Donald Trump's tariff policies.

Ryan Gosling joins Marvel as 'Ghost Rider'

Gosling attended Comic-Con on July 25, where he joined Marvel Studios' climactic Hall H panel. During the event, it was revealed that he will play 'Ghost Rider' in a new film slated for a 2028 release.

Later, his longtime partner, Mendes, celebrated his casting by sharing an Instagram video. The post featured a clip from their film The Place Beyond the Pines, with the text reading, “From this intro only I thought Ryan Gosling can be a perfect casting for Ghost Rider role.”

The 'Training Day' actress added in the caption, “Love, Roxy,” she wrote, referring to her own Ghost Rider character, Roxanne Simpson, from the 2007 film.
