The post, dated October 28, read, “Whoopi and Joy are forfeiting their salaries for 6 months to keep The View from the chopping block: ‘The show's been losing money for years.’”

With over 1,100 reactions and hundreds of comments, the post sparked speculation and debate, with many readers assuming the claim was based on factual events.

However, the truth behind the post quickly became evident to those who looked closer.

The initial rumors stemmed from a satire-based website, the Dunning-Kruger Times, which operates under the broader America’s Last Line of Defense (ALLOD) network.

This network is known for its fictional stories and humorous takes on current events, often aimed at sparking discussions, albeit with a fictional twist.

A pinned comment under the post served as a disclaimer, explaining that the claim about Goldberg and Behar taking a pay cut originated from the Dunning-Kruger Times, which describes itself as a satire website.

The Dunning-Kruger Times has been notorious for using humor, irony, and exaggeration to create fictional headlines that resemble real news stories.

According to its own 'About' page, the site clarifies, “Everything on this website is fiction. It is not a lie and it is not fake news because it is not real.”

The page continues with a tongue-in-cheek explanation, “If you believe that it is real, you should have your head examined.”

The viral post about Goldberg and Behar is just one of many fictional stories ALLOD has published to gain attention, likes, and shares.

Whoopi Goldberg recently found herself addressing more misinformation

Adding fuel to the fire, Whoopi Goldberg recently found herself addressing more misinformation - this time involving Joe Rogan’s podcast, according to Variety.

Goldberg debunked claims made by podcaster Joe Rogan and former president Donald Trump about her supposed 'friendly' attitude toward Trump when he appeared on 'The View' in 2011.

During an episode of 'The Joe Rogan Experience', Rogan and Trump alleged that Goldberg had been warm and welcoming to Trump, a claim that Goldberg quickly refuted.

“There’s a lot of fake news coming up, so we’re going to clear some of it up,” Goldberg remarked on 'The View', as she prepared to play a clip of Rogan’s podcast where Trump claimed to have been warmly introduced by Goldberg in 2011.

Goldberg immediately clarified, pointing out inaccuracies in Rogan’s statements: “It was 2011, four years before he announced he was running,” Goldberg stated. “That’s the first thing they got wrong.”

Rogan’s comments included the assertion that Goldberg had referred to Trump as “our friend,” a detail Goldberg wasted no time correcting.

She played a clip of the actual interview, in which former co-host Barbara Walters called Trump “my friend,” while Goldberg, sitting nearby, appeared visibly unenthusiastic.

Goldberg explained, “So, Barbara was her usual polite self as she was with every guest. But did I look warm and fuzzy? Was that a warm and fuzzy welcome for him?”

Goldberg laughed, adding, “Because I respect Barbara, she said be polite to guests no matter what. And for the most part I got through it, I did it, like I do now.”

Further debunking Rogan’s recollection, Goldberg challenged his interpretation that 'The View' hosts had spoken highly of Trump, using another clip from the 2011 interview as evidence.

In the clip, Goldberg can be seen criticizing Trump’s focus on Barack Obama’s birth certificate, expressing her disapproval by stating, “I think that’s the biggest pile of dog mess I’ve heard in ages. It’s not because he’s Black? Because I’ve never heard of any White president being asked to show a birth certificate? That’s BS.”
