WASHINGTON, DC: Donald Trump has completed 10 days as the 47th President of the United States, and within this time he has signed several ground-breaking executive orders, bringing massive changes in the country's laws and policies.

However, amid the president's eventful first 10 days in office, a rumor gained traction online that Trump has signed an executive order banning men from wearing skinny jeans. But is there any truth to this? Let us find out.

Claim: Donald Trump signs executive order banning men from wearing skinny jeans

In late January, a video circulated online that allegedly showed President Donald Trump signing an executive order banning "grown men" from wearing skinny jeans.

The clip was also posted on Instagram, where it has surpassed more than 56,000 likes till now. The caption of the clip read, "Trump signs an executive order demanding grown men no longer wear skinny jeans."

Moreover, the video also featured a Fox News 'Breaking News' chyron that read "TRUMP SIGNS EXECUTIVE ORDER FOR NO MEN'S SKINNY JEANS."

Meanwhile, in the clip, a man could be heard briefing Trump on the document, saying, "And lastly, sir, we have an executive order demanding that grown men stop wearing skinny jeans."

Trump replies, "That's a big one, huh? Lot of people are waiting for this for a long, for years, for decades."

False: Video is fake and made by editing real footage

However, the rumor that President Trump has signed an executive order banning grown men from wearing skinny jeans is absolutely false. The video that circulated online is fake and made by editing real footage of the president signing a raft of executive orders, according to Snopes.

On January 25, @thehulseystyle YouTube channel and its linked Instagram page originally posted the footage. Barry Hulsey, who owns the accounts, confirmed to Snopes that the clip was fake.



 

Moreover, he said that he made it using traditional editing and that no artificial intelligence software was used, per the outlet. He also confirmed to a commenter on the video that it was not real, mentioning, "Real as a unicorn."

Furthermore, search engine results showed no evidence of Trump signing an executive order banning men from wearing skinny jeans, and no credible news outlets reported any such news.

Donald Trump signs executive order to expand school choice

President Donald Trump signed a sweeping executive order on Wednesday, January 29, that would prioritize and free up federal funding to expand school choice programs, according to NBC News.

A senior White House official said that the order affects several federal departments and directs the Education Department to prioritize school choice programs through its discretionary grants, apart from issuing guidance to states about federal allocations to districts and schools.

The order states, "Within 60 days of the date of this order, the Secretary of Education shall issue guidance regarding how States can use Federal formula funds to support K-12 educational choice initiatives."

The order, titled 'Expanding Educational Freedom and Opportunity for Families', instructs the Department of Health and Human Services to issue guidance that explains how states receiving block grants for families and children can utilize the money for faith-based and private institutions within the next 90 days, per the outlet.
