Fact Check: Did Drake crash into a tunnel painted on a wall by a coyote?
TORONTO, ONTARIO: A bizarre claim about rapper Drake has gone viral, alleging that he was injured after crashing into a tunnel painted on a wall by a coyote.
The claim comes as Drake remains in the spotlight following the surprise release of his 43-track triple album featuring 'Iceman', 'Habibti', and 'Maid of Honour'. Did Drake really suffer such an unusual accident? Let’s fact-check the claim.
Claim: Drake injured after driving into a tunnel painted on a wall by a coyote
The claim started with an Instagram post and an X (formerly Twitter) post from the Daily Noud account, which claimed, "Drake reportedly injured after driving into a tunnel painted on a wall by a coyote."
The user also shared details about Drake’s recent livestream, writing, "During his return to streaming last night, Drake hosted an anniversary broadcast featuring a viewer giveaway and a speed dating segment."
"The event included a prize pool of over one million dollars for the audience, with one viewer receiving a fifty thousand dollar prize," it added.
The Instagram user also wrote, "The core of the broadcast revolved around a twenty-versus-one dating competition. Throughout the evening, Drake participated in interactions with the contestants."
The post shared more details about the dating segment: "In one exchange, Drake sat across from a participant who asked him to bark on command, and he complied by making barking noises. Another moment occurred when a different contestant removed her wedding ring after hugging him. At the end of the dating segment, Drake selected three finalists to receive gifts."
"One participant was given twenty-five thousand dollars and a handbag, another received twenty-five thousand dollars and a vacation, and a third was awarded a house for her mother. Drake also used the broadcast to address his music and public disputes. He directed comments at other artists, warning them to be cautious with their replies, and mentioned subpoenas clearing up," the post said about the prizes and other topics discussed by the Canadian rapper.
Fact Check: Claim originated from a parody account
The claim is false. Drake did not suffer injuries after driving into a tunnel painted on a wall by a coyote.
The claim came from a post by @DailyNoud, a parody account whose bio says it posts “fake stories” and is not affiliated with real hip-hop news outlets. The joke refers to the classic 'Looney Tunes' scene in which Wile E Coyote paints a fake tunnel on a wall.
The images shared with the claim also do not prove that the incident happened. They include a photo of Drake and a separate image of a mural showing the cartoon tunnel, with a crashed car in front of it.
Similar images of the mural and crashed cars have circulated online for years as viral images and hoaxes. They have no connection to Drake.
No credible news reports from August 2026 or recent months show that Drake was involved in such a car accident or suffered related injuries. Recent reports instead show Drake continuing his music activities, including spending time in the studio.
