WASHINGTON, DC: Amid criticism and pressure against the Trump administration over the Iran war and rising gas prices, a social media post claims that popular rapper Eminem praised President Donald Trump, saying that he’s on the right side of history. The claim has sparked speculation from fans, prompting a fact-check.

According to the viral X post, Eminem showed support for Trump in a new interview.

"It is quite crazy to have that moment when you realize you've had it wrong all along and supported the wrong side," the rapper allegedly said.

"My great friend Kid Rock made me realize that Trump and MAGA are on the right side of history, and I've unfortunately been blinded by my daughter's views on the world."

The post attributes the claim to Vogue magazine, drawing mixed reactions from fans and online users.

While many appeared to slam the rapper for his alleged statement, others praised him, indicating they believe the claim is true.

Meanwhile, a few others appeared surprised and expressed skepticism over the claim, calling for a fact-check.

Fact Check: The claim originated from a parody account

The claim, however, is false, as there are no records of the 53-year-old artist making such a statement, while his previous remarks suggest criticism of Trump.

There is no recent Vogue interview praising Trump as being on the right side of history. A search on the outlet’s website for the claim yielded no results.

An additional Google search to check whether he has made such a statement elsewhere also returned no credible reports from prominent entertainment media outlets.

Moreover, the claim was posted by an X account called ‘HFR Podcast’ which describes itself in the bio as ‘satire or parody.’

The phrase ‘right side of history’ came from Eminem’s 2018 interview where he discussed criticism of Trump.

The rapper said, “At least when this shit is all said and done, maybe I can just be on the right side of history. You got people dissecting the bars, and going, ‘Aw, this shit is trash, it’s not even that good.’"

"That’s not what it’s about. You’re missing the whole point. Do you know what I’m saying? I’m trying to say this also to my fanbase who might have voted for him."

"A lot of people in my fanbase probably did. I realized after it was all said and done that maybe I should have just attacked him.”
