WASHINGTON, DC: An allegation has been circulating on social media platforms claiming that Pennsylvania Democrat Senator John Fetterman has called the Democratic Party ‘corrupt’ and ‘irredeemable.’ The claim surfaced as Fetterman continues to slam his own party, sparking criticism and speculation from netizens and calling for a fact-check.

The claim appeared as an X post, according to which Fetterman has reached his breaking point by calling his own party "corrupt and irredeemable."

"I don't see a way for Democrats to redeem themselves," the Pennsylvania Senator allegedly told reporters. "Every day it's another scandal. This week, we're destroying national monuments to make the President look bad."

According to the post, Fetterman says he has little hope for America if his party takes power.

"I can't imagine what these leftists would do if they actually had to govern," the post quotes Fetterman as saying.

The post has gone viral, garnering tens of thousands of views, with many appearing to agree with him while others questioned its authenticity.

Although Fetterman has frequently made headlines for disagreements within his own party, there are no reports of him slamming the Democrats as "corrupt and irredeemable."

There are no official statements, press reports, social media posts, or interviews of the senator supporting the claim, which, if true, would not go unreported by prominent news outlets.

But a search on Google and other search engines, such as Bing, for the claim yielded no credible news reports.

Additionally, the claim was posted by a popular Facebook parody account, ‘America’s Last Line Of Defense,’ which describes itself in the bio as ‘Nothing on this page is real.’

The claim surfaced after Fetterman made headlines by calling himself "a lifelong Republican" before correcting himself during a conversation with CBS News’ Major Garrett at the Texas Tribune Festival in Austin on Saturday.

"Because I've, I'm a lifelong uh Republican," Fetterman said at one point, prompting Garrett to interject with a correction: "Democrat."

Fetterman immediately laughed off the error, saying, "That's... That's a moment right there. That's clippable, ladies and gentlemen.”

“Circulate. Go, go, go. Internet, spin wildly. Wildly spin internet," he said, before adding, "Yeah, I guarantee you that's going to break through. That'll get that'll get clipped. Yeah, I'm a lifelong Democrat though."
