SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA: Ahead of the release of Marvel’s much-awaited 'Avengers: Doomsday,' a rumor began circulating on social media claiming that Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige announced the film would be dedicated to slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

The claim has sparked widespread debate and speculation, prompting a fact-check.

According to the viral claim that surfaced on X, Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel Studios, revealed at San Diego Comic-Con that 'Avengers: Doomsday' would be dedicated to Charlie Kirk's memory.

The post garnered hundreds of thousands of views in a short span and continues to circulate widely online.

The claim drew mixed reactions from social media users, with some appearing to praise the move while others criticized it, leading to heated debates in the comment section and suggesting that many believed the claim to be genuine.

Meanwhile, others expressed skepticism and questioned the authenticity of the viral post, prompting a fact-check.

Fact Check: The claim originated from a parody account

The claim, however, is false. There are no reports that Feige mentioned the late Turning Point USA (TPUSA) founder at San Diego Comic-Con while promoting the 39th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

A Google search for the claim yielded no credible reports from major news or entertainment outlets. Had the claim been true, it would likely have generated widespread media coverage.

Moreover, the claim originated from an account called "Discussing Fish," which describes itself in its bio as a "parody satire fake news page." Therefore, the claim is false and appears to have been created for engagement.

A fact-check by Grok also confirmed, "No evidence exists of any such MCU dedication or Feige statement linking the film to Kirk; Marvel's recent SDCC announcements focused on cast and story details without this."

Kevin Feige surprised attendees at San Diego Comic-Con by unveiling exclusive footage from the film, which was shown only to fans inside Hall H.

The film is set for release on December 18 and will bring together the Avengers, Fantastic Four, Thunderbolts, and several other Marvel heroes. Marvel began building anticipation last December by releasing four teaser trailers for the highly anticipated film.

The cast includes Robert Downey Jr as the villain Doctor Doom, alongside Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Paul Rudd, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, and Simu Liu.
