Claim: Lenny Kravitz died in the Florida Learjet crash

The rumors started after social media users shared a post allegedly written by Florida-based pilot Emily Shelton.
In the post, she said she was excited to fly rock star Lenny Kravitz from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Texas to North Eleuthera Airport in the Bahamas.
"Honored to be flying the one and only Lenny Kravitz from [Austin-Bergstrom International Airport] to [North Eleuthera Airport, Bahamas] tomorrow. Looking forward to having him on board."
She also mentioned that she planned to play his song 'It Ain't Over 'Til It's Over' in the cockpit.
However, some social media users linked Shelton to the Learjet that crashed in Florida and assumed Kravitz was on board.
A private jet carrying nine people crashed into a residential area in South Florida on Sunday, November 1, and burst into flames.
The aircraft narrowly missed nearby homes before hitting the ground near a busy road. All nine people on board died, according to US Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy.
Duffy confirmed on X that the Learjet 60 crashed in Palm Beach County at around 12:50 p.m. on Sunday. He described the incident as a “horrific tragedy.”
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has also sent a team to assist the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) in investigating the cause of the crash.
Fact Check: Lenny Kravitz's representative dismissed rumors
The claim is false. Lenny Kravitz's representative has dismissed rumors that the rock star was on board the Learjet heading to the Bahamas.
His representative, Carleen Donovan, told BocaNewsNow that the reports were “untrue and incorrect.”
The rumors gained attention after a post claiming that pilot Emily Shelton was flying the aircraft received nearly three million views on X by Monday morning.
The post also suggested that Kravitz was likely a passenger on the jet.
Shelton, a 21-year-old pilot who made headlines in August after making an emergency landing on Interstate 10, also denied any involvement in the crash.
In a TikTok video posted on Sunday, she clarified that she was not the pilot of the aircraft that crashed in Palm Beach.
She asked people to stop spreading false information and making guesses about the tragedy. She also expressed sympathy for the nine victims and everyone affected by the crash.

Meanwhile, authorities had not identified the nine people killed in the crash at the time of writing. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis described the incident as a “cataclysmic” tragedy.
He said the $2 million Learjet crashed into a South Florida mobile home park, leaving a large crater near the road. He also compared the falling aircraft to a missile.
