Fact Check: Did Natalie Harp miss Trump’s Marine One trip with Walt, Margo and Leavitt?

JOINT BASE ANDREWS, MARYLAND: Amid growing public interest in President Donald Trump’s inner circle, Natalie Harp has drawn attention for her appearances during the president’s recent travels. Online posts have also raised questions about her absence from one of Trump’s recent Marine One trip on August 21, prompting speculation about her role among the president’s aides. Let’s fact-check the claim.

Claim: Natalie Harp reportedly missing from Trump's recent Marine One trip 

Speculation about Natalie Harp’s absence from a recent Marine One trip began after online users noticed that Walt, Margo and Karoline Leavitt were seen leaving the helicopter without her. 

Some posts joked that Harp was on the “hot seat” or facing pushback from Melania Trump, while others made lighthearted guesses about the White House staff’s dynamics.

One user shared a 22-second video and asked, “where’s natalie harp? we see walt, margo, and karoline leave marine one. it does not appear that she accompanied trump today.” The video shows Trump walking across the tarmac with a female military officer while other staff and security members are nearby. News banners in the video indicate that Trump was traveling to a rally in August 2026.

Other users responded with jokes about Harp’s whereabouts and mentioned her reputation for carrying a portable printer and staying close to Trump during his travels. The same X user later shared another video and wrote, “Trump answers questions under the eyes of Karoline Leavitt. Natalie Harp has not been seen...yet.”

Another user wrote, “Harp is on the hot seat.....they had to get her out of the cameras Also Karoline probably shanked her....or Melania did if Harp is not travelling with Trump to the rally, we will know that her days are numbered Maybe she will sneak into the cargo hold” 

Another commenter added, “Uh oh! There’s trouble in paradise. They probably had Natalie institutionalized. 😬”

Fact Check: The claim is false

The claim is false. Natalie Harp did accompany President Donald Trump on his August 21, 2026, trip and was not absent.

Although some online users pointed out the aides visible in the footage, the video did not show everyone who traveled with Trump.

Photos and reports from the same day show Harp boarding Marine One at the White House and later getting off the helicopter at Joint Base Andrews before Trump’s trip to a rally in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. 

She traveled with Trump, Karoline Leavitt, Margo Martin and Walt Nauta. AP photos also showed Harp arriving with Trump and Leavitt at Andrews.

Harp later skipped the press gathering on the tarmac and boarded Air Force One. She was also photographed boarding Air Force One in Myrtle Beach for the return trip.

Harp serves as one of Trump’s close executive assistants and is often nicknamed the “human printer” because she carries a portable printer and gives him printed news coverage. She frequently travels with Trump on Marine One and Air Force One. The video circulating online simply does not show her in the specific frames, which does not mean she was absent from the trip.
