WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump delivered his first official State of the Union address of his second term to a joint session of Congress on Tuesday, February 24, and marked a record-breaking moment in American political history.

The POTUS proclaimed the dawn of America's 'Golden Age' and 'Affordability Era' during his 1 hour 47 minutes address, the longest such speech ever given.

Following this, a rumor circulated online claiming that a day after the SOTU address, Attorney General Pam Bondi said the Department of Justice (DOJ) would visit each household that watched 'Jeopardy!' instead of Trump's speech. But is there any truth to this claim? Let us find out below.

Claim: Pam Bondi said feds will visit households that watched 'Jeopardy!' over SOTU

A post was shared on Facebook along with an image of Pam Bondi speaking at a White House podium with a Fox News chyron that read, "BONDI: 'WE WILL VISIT EACH HOUSE WE KNOW WATCHED 'JEOPARDY' INSTEAD OF THE STATE OF THE UNION'."

The viral post garnered more than 45,000 reactions, and around 12,000 Facebook users commented on the post at the time of filing this story.

During his SOTU speech, Donald Trump touted a roaring economy with plummeting inflation, rising incomes, record stock markets, lower gas prices, energy dominance, and sweeping tax relief measures.

His speech was filled with theatrical flair, as the POTUS introduced and honored a parade of 'American heroes' in the gallery, from the gold medal-winning US men's Olympic hockey team to Medal of Honor recipients.

Fact Check: False, Pam Bondi made no such statement

The claims made in the online post are false, as Pam Bondi did not make any such statement. The rumor originated from the Facebook page of James Schlarmann, who is a satirist and comedian. The Facebook post also includes the watermark, which Schlarmann includes on his satirical images.

The Facebook user posted the image with the quote the day after Trump's State of the Union address. The about page of his Facebook profile included the description 'comedian and political satirist'.

Furthermore, no media reports mentioned that Pam Bondi said the government would visit the homes of people who watched 'Jeopardy!' over Trump's SOTU speech. The screenshot of Bondi used in the post was from a February 6, 2026, press conference.
