The 28-second viral video shows Sweeney calling out Nolan's brand-new epic film, ‘The Odyssey.’

The video shows the ‘Euphoria’ actress seated in a room in front of a laptop and saying, “Huh, no offence, but The Odyssey the new one is so bad. It’s kinda like when someone gets plastic surgery, and it’s a disaster, and they end up looking like a ghoulish wreck."

"And you know, additionally, I have been calling it the ‘Transassey,’ and I don’t care if they call it an ad lib. Because, hello, it’s obviously a dumpster fire. Like, our eyes work, and we see what’s going on here. So, yeah.”

Fact Check: False, the video is AI-generated

The video, however, is fake and was generated using Artificial Intelligence, and Sweeney did not make any such comment about the film.

The post even has a label at the bottom which states, ‘Made with AI,’ and the clip ended with a disclaimer that reads, “Unreal: lacking in reality, substance, or genuineness.”

The video was posted by an account called ‘Maverick Alexander,’ who is known for making such deepfake and misleading content. His bio even reads, ‘Mostly Satires.’

Moreover, a reverse image search for the video revealed that the user used the exact visual in July 2025, with different audio, in which the actress was heard talking about the American Eagle ad controversy.

The video surfaced amid the controversy surrounding the casting of the film. Nolan addressed discussions surrounding his adaptation of the classic Greek epic, stating, “Remember, I spent 10 years of my life dealing with ‘Batman’."

"When I came on ‘Begins,’ writers and artists had been working on this beloved character for almost 65 years, and a lot of freighted thoughts were out there about what he represents.”

“And what I learnt over my time on that trilogy is you can’t worry about any of that at all. What you have to do is honor the original text by interpreting it in the strongest way you personally can,” Nolan added.
